I'm dead tired! over 20 hours in a boat and only brought home 4 fish

luckily they were all good white bass, 2 14 inchers and 2 13 inchers.
Saturday was rough, it was windy when we went out and there were 3-4' waves on the main lake. We hit a cove just at sun up and I tossed out a torpedo top water bait. First cast of the day, my bait hit the water and a fish hit it about 1.5 seconds later. It was a small white (fishing for black bass - large mouth) Threw it back and looked forward to a good day of fishing, how often do you catch a fish on your first cast of the day? BLAMMO!!!!! no other bites for over 3 hours. At about 10 am or so we were using spinner baits on a rock ledge in about 5 feet of water. I'd hit the ledge and let the spinner sink underneath it before I'd crank it in. I missed a couple of hits, but then landed my first ever small mouth bass. Then no more hits for the rest of Saturday It sucked saturday afternoon. The wind had picked up to about 20-25 mph and the water was worse than the ocean. There were 4-5' swells and white caps all over the place. I almost fell out of the boat twice.
Sunday we got up at 6 am and head to the ramp. My roommate says "man I'm tired, if it's windy and rainy again lets just go home" so I agreed. We get to the boat ramp and there was NO wind what-so-ever. The lake looked like a sheet of glass, perfect fishing conditions!!!! YES! Finaly!!! We launch the boat and head for where we had heard of some black bass biting last week. After about 10 min of fishing I hear this big splash, like somebody droped a big rock in the water. I look over and my roommates pole is bent in half and he's got an "holy mother of God" look on his face. We then watched in horor as, what had to be a 4-5 lb black bass wrapped itself around the leg of the dock we were fishing by, then the line broke. That would turn out to be the only bite we had all day until 3:30 pm when we started fishing for white bass.
We're tire, we're pissed but damnit we want fish in the boat so we don't give up. We decide to hunt for stripers or whites on the main body of the lake. We see about 12 boats in one area and head that way. As we pull up we see alot of people pulling in whites like crazy. So we get happy and put minnows on and start fishing. NOTHING!!!!! NOTHING!!!!! Nothing would bite!!!! Everybody around us is catching fish, but us! Boats started moving away signaling that the school of fish had moved on. At this time I have 2 minnows on at diferent depts and am working a spoon at the bottom. My roommate is doing the same and his girlfriend has a minnow on. We decide to follow the boats so I start cranking in my spoon. I get it about 1/2 way up (35 ft of water) and WHAM!!! something hits it!! Finaly I have a fish on. I get it to the top and as I'm bringing it over the boat the hook falls out and the fish falls into the water. Lost a nice keeper white!
I put my spoon back in just as my roommate and his girlfriend say fish on! then one of my minnow poles goes down, fish on!!! so I crank the spoon back up and WHAM!!! another fish on!!!! LOL 4 fish on at the same time w/ 3 people in the boat after 2 days of no fish. out of those there was only 1 keeper. Then the unthinkable happens, my favorite spoon gets snagged on a tree about 30 ft down. I tried to get it free, but the line broke

I was bummed out I caught a lot of fish on that hunk of metal. I put another spoon on and start doing it again. Bammo! Snagged again

This time I didn't want to lose another spoon so I worked it up and down slowly to get it free of the branches, it worked! I crank it up to check the line and when it breaks the surface I see another lure hanging from the treble hook. Upon closer inspection I realize that I just caught the same spoon I had lost 5 minutes earlier in 35' of water!!!!!!!!! I've never seen anything like that happen before. We laughed for an hour.
Anyway we finaly got into the whites and caught a bunch of small ones, but did get to bring home 4 good sized fish for 2 nights worth of dinner

Was a tough weekend, but the last 2 hours made it worth the while

Funny sport this is! I can't wait for next weekend
Animal and Skuzzy

We got home last night to find the front drapes down and in shambles. We had one of those killer evil skeeters in the house and the cat went apeshit trying to kill it. LOL! BTW their not skeeters they're skeeter hawks they kill skeeters

but they are big!
