hmmm...
Crap that people wanted to end the pointless seige, or crap that it didn't happen?
On the former I disagree; I had a few players tell me they very much intended to hold the arena in stasis for as long as they could, just for the glory of "owning". Not much fun there, is there?
On the latter, I know it happened because I for one did switch and goon to reset in such a situation. I would do it again in a heartbeat, too. It isn't much of a combat sim if planes can't even lift off in opposition.
I don't care if sides are balanced. I don't care if people spy. I don't care if people switch sides for whatever reason. Like Funked says, "so what?" What I do care about is finding something fun to do while I am online- and circling over some base waiting my turn in line to vultch doesn't sound like much fun to me. I'm also not megalomaniacal enough to want to stare at an all-green map just for the joy of "owning".
Now if you say you think it is crap that a country would hold another down to two bases, and no one on your side makes a move to take the last base, what is the opposing side supposed to do? Fight back? How? This is the logic that totally escapes me- there are people that really expect people to dutifully relaunch over and over so as to provide easy vultches. They think that people won't just log off or switch countries, and criticize them if they do. It is totally unrealistic to expect anyone to endure that for any length of time.
