Now, if this were a Burger thread, the Double Double would have my "Best mass produced hamberger" vote.  In fact, if given the choice today of having a Double Double or any other sandwich, I'd probably go with the Double Double. but that's because I live in Maryland, and I'm homesick lol.

But seriously, if anyone is visiting California (or Vegas), go to In-N-Out at least once.

Hmmm, we don't have In-N-Out Burgers up here in Oregon, but I'm making a trip down to Cali with a few friends on the 16th, and after doing the research have found that there's one along the way in Redding.  Is it worth stopping Funked?  I trust your gut, so lay it on me strait, brother!  :D

SOB they rock.  You will not find a better drive-thru burger.  The fries are great too.

Don't forget to ask for pickles and grilled onions.

If a double-double is not enough for you then go for the 4 by 4.  :)

They serve a lot of stuff that is not officially on the menu:  http://www.tiburon-belvedere.com/cgi/home.cgi?c=In_N_Out

REUBEN!! ...or is that rueben?

Stupid sandwich story:  Went to Fuddruckers (kickbutt burger joint) in Riyadh Saudi Arabia with a bunch of coworkers (including one idiot... err, besides me).  I was already irked at going to an American joint to eat with all the other really good stuff over there.  Anyway, idiot orders the Bacon Mushroom Burger.  Idiot proceeds to eat and discovers the bacon is TERRIBLE.  As a matter of fact, it's a DISK of meat with most of the characteristics of shoe leather lol.  Idiot then proceeds up to the counter and goes off on a tirade about them giving him FAKE BACON on his Burger.  Ahem... in Saudi Arabia.   (Get it? lol)

SOB I actually like their freshly made grilled buns so much that I order singles.  :)
But really, buff dudes like us should stick with the 4x4, high protein and all that.

My favorite sandwich is a deerburger, made the way I was taught to make them by a friend of mine in college.  They are super unhealthy like this (we used to joke that each one you ate took 1 year off your life, but that cant be true or I would be dead long ago!)  but the taste is out of this world good.  They are simple to make, just take hamburger pattys made from deer ground meat, and fry them in a skillet that is awash with a whole stick or two of butter.  Just before you take it out, drop the hamburger buns in there so they get nice and buttery too, and drop a slab of sharp cheddar cheese, on top of the meat.  Put it all together and eat it while its still hot.  Man I can eat those all night.  First time I ever had it, I ate like 6 of them.  They remind me of those "sliders" that you can get at that fast food franchise up north (white castle or something like that?).  They are so greasy they just slide right down, and deer meat has better flavor than beef.

Don't dare disrespect White Castle.
