Has there been any documented cheating in this game?

If you fly this game online, then you're a competitive person. That is the only explanation, because if you flew it just for the fun of the sim, you could do it offline.

That said, we all seem to care about cheating. More than anything though, I'm getting sick of hearing about cheating, and sick of the accusations, etc.

I would feel a heck of a lot better if I simply knew one way or the other if there was cheating going on.


Is there a cheat that alters plane flight characteristics such as speed, stalling, etc.

Is there a cheat that makes planes/vehicles able to take more damage?

Is there a cheat that makes planes/vehicles ammunition and ordinace hit harder, more accurate, etc?

Etc, I think the only way to deal with cheats is for everyone to be fully informed so we can spot cheaters from the get-go.

It is sertainly possible to edit the planes characteristics as they fly offline, things like fuel and ammo are easy. Just keep each at 10% and replenshinish them as you use them. The more sophisticated things would be more difficult and takes more iterest than I had when I looked at it durring beta.
But you can certainly see them in memory just like any other game. Would the server spot it if you monkied with them? No idea I did it more out of curiosity then anything but I found it took time away from flying so I gave it up after 2 hours.

 There are no cheats being used by anyone in AH.  There are problems with people lacking an understanding of how the internet works (or doesn't) and there are even more people who do not understand flight and ACM.
 Quite often, sadly, many folks don't take some time to investigate or even logically think about what it is they may have seen and too many times they take the path of least resistance which is to point an accusatory finger at the supposed "cheater".

 Same thing happened in Salem Mass (USA) in the 1600's.

dont forget how HT started, hacking AW. Had a nice long talk with killer about a month ago on how it all started, 3 hours in fact.  My take on hacking is this, it can be done, sometimes easily.  All it takes is a dedicated person to proxy the packets and figure out what they do.  Hopefully encryption is more then a copyright stamp.

Cheaters are like crooks, big ego that wouldn't allow them to keep their brilliance quiet. Someone would find out and then two someones and so on. No way is cheating happening in AH, unless it is hblair.

Catching cheaters would be near and dear to HT & Pyro's hearts. If cheaters were allowed much room at all, HTC's simulation and their livelyhood would go down the dumper.

I'm sure it has happened but would also guess cheaters have been busted.

On the other hand, I think there are way too many accusing others unjustly as Westy points out.

Too many prefer to blame others for their own shortcomings or for net burps and such.

I'm pretty sure there are some that have used some form of cheats in AH but since I have no way of proving them I won't even bother pointing fingers.

I don't see how some of you can say for a fact that there is NO cheating at all. Just because they haven't been caught does not mean it doesn't happen.

Now am I going to go on a Hack dweeb hunt? NO! If I get proof of hacking I will report it to HTC. Until then I'll keep my eyes open and my mouth shut.
