After seeing the pizza map, I decided I wasn't so anxious for 1.10 after all.

It does open up some interesting possibilities for mapmakers though.  Why stop at pizza?   You could do nachos, hot dogs - or even get really creative and do a bust of Ronald Reagan.
Better yet, a bust of Marilyn Monroe.

I think it looks like a great MA map.  Three equal zones for three countries, interesting new strat design, HUGE.  I'm really looking forward to it.

I thought that  the Pizza Shiner bock map was the first MA terrain after the beta terrain .

I shouldn't make fun of the pizza map.  I'm sure it took alot of hard effort.   Initially, I wasn't crazy about the "Perdonia" map for the CT either, and ya know what?  Perdonia is hands down the best looking terrain I've ever flown in, with terrific framerates everywhere.  Its one of my favorites now.

You guys need to understand how hard it is to make a 'historical' terrain that is balanced for all 3 sides.  The bases arent going to be close enough for MA play and they arent going to be even for all sides.  I guess you could do a real map and just place bases wherever you want to, but then again....how 'historical' would that be?   :)

I am looking forward to the seeing how the new strat is going to work in 1.10.  I applaud the AKs for their effort.  Everyone has been whining about needing bigger maps, and they are the only ones that stepped up to the plate to try their hand at creating something.  I am sure that HTC really appreciates their efforts since it leaves them free to bring about bigger and better things in the game and not have to spend so much time making new maps.

really pleased we have a large scale map otw but to be honest i think its layout lacks inspiration a bit.

unless of course there is plenty of differing terrain like canyons etc

I just hope its a little bit more exciting to play than it is to look at :)

Accurate or real land masses can be made into maps pretty simple, airfields can be historically placed, But would it make good gameplay? Probably not, for a senerio's "Immersion" factor, YES! For the MA definately NO!!. your right, if you do a real landmass and then change the airfeilds for gameplay it's no more "historical" than changing the landmass or making a "fantasy" map. A 3 sided map ( balanced) is really not an easy task while trying to maintain some sort of historic landmass. HiTech once told me more or less gameplay comes first. That i would have to agree with. AK's were fortunate enought to get a jump on the "zone" idea HiTech is working on. I'm sure once v1.10 is released and the "zone" is understood,  you'll see more maps getting submitted. to the AK's for stepping up and doing this MA map, especially of this size and magnitude.

is it me, or does it resemble the AW 3 sided map..with the rivers in the middle..with the AZ on the left the Bz on the right and the Cz on the bottom? also, not a lot of water.. the naval planes will be rather out of place in the desert.

At least with the AW 3-sided map you could still gain some
suspension of reality and "get into it"...

With this ludicrous "pizza" terrain it would be REAL hard to
suspend belief. Absolutely NOTHING relates to "real life"
 in terms of TERRAIN...only PIZZAS!

I find it to be the worst looking terrain I've ever seen...bar none!

I still hope beyond hope that it's nothing bu a giant, oversized
 troll or joke!

GB - have you seen the Calendar picture posted by AKWabbit (I think)?  It features a screenshot from this terrain, and I think it looks awesome!  Give it a chance, huh?  Don't forget, although it looks very over-crowded, it is actually 4 times the size of the arenas we are used to in the MA!  :)
