Geeze, you guys still mad about that election thing. LOL. Amazing!! The U.S. Supreme court only got involved when the Floriday Court started changing the election rules. Heck you guys had 16 thousand voters who didn't know how to vote. Al Gore lost Tennessee; his Home state, KY; a traditional Democratic state, and WV, another traditional Democratic State. The guy was and is a Liar and Moron. I am really worried about him. Honestly. I think he has lost it.

BTW, we have a republic folks, get over it.  Ole Uncle Al will not be there this year to buy you things with other peoples money. You may want to find a job.

Golly, these message boards are more fun than flying. LOL

I'm disappointed in you Lee. Amazing to me that when someone "Dares express their opinion" that instead of addressing the issue they want to attack the messenger. AK, you, and others just don't get it. It's a product lee, that is all. If the product does not perform as we think it should then we have choices.  I do not like the design of the map. The bases are too high, the canyons too low, it looks like a Pizza, and their are too many bases for the number of flyers as Whels pointed out. Putting that in a positive light what I am saying is shrink the map some. lower some of base alts and get a little better ratio of players to bases. Right now it is milk runner heaven LOL. Wait Lee, are you a milk runner these days? I know the AK are. I caught them running under dar one day and killed them all. You know that may have given them the idea for this map.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh my God, It's all my fault!! LOL,

"GWB didnt win any election, he was chosen by the supreme court (in fact he lost by 543,895 votes). So we are stuck with one more baldwin. Talk about the raunchy end of the stick. "

Hmm... Ok.. so, so far... liberals, people from socialist countries and those who won't fly anything but pee 51's like the map... Oh and the guys who drew it up (i think) and even they make excuses for it.

It's an ok map if you are a late war only plane fan or a milkrunner.

I could be wrong but I believe that AKDesert really isn't the only map available. All the old terrains work just fine offline with the new client. Granted, the back end may not work with the older maps but I bet they do.

Since Hitech isn't putting them into rotation presently maybe if all those that are unhappy just whine a little longer and louder Hitech will hear and grant yer wish? Ya think?

I am not sure about anyone else........however I for one am more of a game person that a Realistic person.
The Map is way to large very hard to get a reset.  Not only that but alot of the gv jump points are way to close.  I do like the canyons however.  As far as the Bombing........ I am not really interested in spending an exhuberant amount of time learning it.  I play for the fun of the game.  Not to learn how to actually fly a WW2 bomber.  I like it as a game.  Besides I am not smart enough of patient enough to figure it all out.  And I work to much at that and dont have the time to fly.  It will definitly set apart the people that have tons of time on thier hands to learn the game.  I however rarely have more than 10 hours at the absolute most to play the game.  Its to bad how things have worked out.  AH is a great game with a bunch of great guys running it.  I just dont think I want to spend the time or effort needed to learn how to bomb all over again.  I started in AW in 1996 where I flew RR exclusivly..... Spendly because I am a gamer not a Realism guy.  Maybe that was my mistake........ But and however I sure hope they get this all worked out for the benifit of the game and its players.

Life is only as good as you make it

btw, 2 great options out there for you guys that hate pizza.

1.  Come to the CT and check it out.
2.  Find a nice corner of the pizza to call your own.  If you look at the 'whole' pizza and try to figure out whats going on, then you will have problems.  I remember back in aw, most squads would work out of a single base in big pac.  If you flew somewhere else on the map, you would be a lost pup after a while.  I think that is the point of this new big map.  It is so large, you find a place you like and call it home.

just a thought.

Looking to the future, I would like to see a map with all arenas in one.  Pacific, china, africa, med, europe, eastern front.  Would be pretty cool.  Bases limited to historical planesets for both sides of course.  e.g. if you were in 'germany' europe you could still fly any allied plane, just european ones.  Same with the pac, and africa.  This would all be on one map though.

I love the new map, with the icons removed, it's a peice of cake to find the fight, with icons on, you have as much info as anyone could possibly want.
Zooming in and dragging the map around with a left click works fine for me.
I love the new bomber stuff, should alleviate some of the strato buff dweebery at least.
The canyons are an absolute blast to fight in, and the GV war is intense due to the close spawn points.

One thing I have noticed is that it seems to be harder to see cons against the ground textures now...wether that is due to colour or more detail, I dont know, it's just what I 'feel'.

Granted, it could no doubt do with a little 'tweaking' here and there, but I think it is a fine effort AKs, and I think that if people just give it a chance, and a week or two to get used to it, then a lot of the 'problems' will dissappear, or at least ways of getting arround them will surface anyway.
Notice the 'at first i hated it, but now I'm starting to rethink' threads starting to pop up?

Frankly, HTC is a bissness shouldnt be leting players make amatuer maps .. and the pizza map is amatuer ... its a disgrace to the genre and HTC shouldnt have allowed it. end of story the map isnt good enough to deserve money. and all this whiner bs is just a way to cover up how untalented AKs really are. go make h2h maps because your not cut out for ma and i think this was the most unprofessional move HTC has done.
