If HTC ramped up the graphics to a point where your current machine failed to give you that lovin feeling, would you upgrade to take advantage of this improvement in graphics or..........?

I would power up in a New York Minute.

Yes, sure but I would prefer an optional improvement.

probably, but  only because i'm at that point almost already.

i do wish they'd get rid of some unnecessary fps sucking things, or at least make them toggable (cluttersheep) or design better ground objects like clumps of trees/sheep instead of  having them spread all over like they were put down by an incontinent cocker spaniel.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

I would . . . . . if my machine was a bit outta date, but as it is right now there isn't much they could do that would require and upgrade on my end :D

I already did! I went from a Compaq 233 Pent II to a Dell 1.9 Gig Pent IV....JUST TO PLAY ACES HIGH!

My FPS went from 17 to 75!

Now, if I had to do it again, less than a year later...well, that's another story. I could not justify spending another 2 grand so soon. Of course, this is a theoretical discussion.

NO.

I upgrade when the business and music software I'm running no longer perform up to speed (due to software upgrades).

I will not upgrade simply to play a computer game.
That would kinda' make my 9.95/month turn into much much more.. tack on over $1,000.

Well, sorta.

I regularly upgrade/build a new machine to play the newest games. Doom III will be the next reason I guess.

btw, nothing beats a machine build from single parts in performance vs. $$$

I would as soon as I could afford to do so.

If HTC is planning a graphics improvement, I would want them to let us know in advance so I could start a savings fund for new PC equipment.

At least a 6 month notice.

UnReal II will push systems a lot further I think Animal. (http://www.unreal2.com)

I won't upgrade to play AH... unless someone gives me money to upgrade... or I win the lottery... or I stumble across a lot of cash... or... well you get the idea, it all revolves around a sudden magical appearance of a lot of money in my pocket... then I'd prolly blow it all on booze and hookers anyway.

To answer the question, yes!  I've upgraded my PC so I can get the most of other games I enjoy (Jedi Knight 2, Soldier of Fortune, etc etc)

Now can graphical enhancements be toggled off/on?  Every other game I have lets me select my level of detail.  If Aces High could do this, yay!  If your system can't handle the detail level, crank it back some.  But from the survey someone had a few days ago, most of the respondents had GHz + systems with impressive video cards.  Be nice to see those systems pushed a bit, game/detail wise ;)
