I'd like to congratulate everyone that killed me
« on: October 01, 2001, 12:42:00 AM »
Great job all! and make sure you give some props to the people that helped you out EVERY SINGLE TIME I DIED.  This game is absolutely starting to disgust me.  How many people on one person is to many?  I counted( I swear to CHRIST) 12 planes chasing AKLarry around, and that seems to be pretty much the norm.  Get a life, you gangbanging freaks.  Jesus.

On a totally unrelated side-note... how long will the LA7's engine run with an oil leak?  My last assraping of the day was by an La7 that had its oil hit on his very first run at the ack.  He made 5 more passes, then turned to fight me once his friends arrived.  The fight was pretty short, only about 1 minute or so- but I know for whoopee sure none of the planes I fly will take a hit to the oil, extend 6 kilometers from the base inbetween FIVE more ack runs, and have enough left over for a short dogfight.

Ya need a wingman. It's the only way to breakup a horde chasing ya.

Look me up sometime online, I'll fly with ya.

So, they should not? They should let you away, or decide and send 1 after you for a "fair fight"?

Had resently comment on channel 1, that I am dweeb because I am killing heavy jabo planes. Commenter probably though I shall let him drop the load on our base, and then fight him.

Such kind of comments is what makes AH not so good environment. With a time you grow a thick skin against such things, still sometime it is not a pleasure to hear, especially if you are sending someone <S> and he blows back with some accusations.

Though I do not like to be killed in AH that much, still I understand that every my death is mainly result of my own mistakes. Sure, luck involved sometimes, but ofthen if you are bounced -- you are not careful enough, chosed wrong field, did not climb enough, were too concentrated on kill etc. If you was killed in a HO -- you did not evaded good (with almost every single plane HO my yak I die only couple of time during the tour of "unwanted" HO, and 20-30 more of the HO I chosed to accept).

I said it before here, but seems it need to be repeated -- one shall accept every time he is killed as an expirience which will help him to be better. If he consider its a bad luck, someone dweebery, or whatever, he loses the chance to see his own mistake, and to be better next time.

dont gotta worry bout me bein one of the gang bangers.....usually if there is more than 2 ppl after a guy (or girl) i wont engage. its pretty pointless to jump into a fight and only get an assist....or steal the kill from someone else. its just not my thing

AFAIK, infinite with any kind of smoke colour. Yesterday I was chasing a white smoking La7 along two quadrants before I desisted. I've seen a lot of cases of black smoking La7 fighting forever. I'm starting to think that this plane has an internal oil/fuel generator...

It uses them there Dylithem Crystals... the oil is just a Romulan ruse to bait you into closing with him.

P.S Urchin... get fast and fly near a hilly section. Sometimes you'll make a couple of them auger...
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

...And why NOT?  SOP for me is if I see more than one friendly fighting a single aircraft, I consider it a matter of principle not to engage.  5 planes chasing around after a single enemy is not only a tactical blunder, foolish, and outright pointless, it makes the majority of the gangbangers look like a bunch of drooling, target fixated morons...ahem...IMHO.  As stated before, a massive furball or coordinated attack are one matter, but what is typically described as gangbanging...well....go right ahead.  All the gangbangers are doing is freeing up the unfriendly skies of AH for my own leisurly enjoyment.

Do I like to get gangbanged? No, of course not. But whenever I do, I just ask myself, "Who got themselves into a position to get gangbanged?". Ummm..... could it be yourself?

Urchin, take a break from the game for a week or two and chill a little, will all your rants lately your starting to sound like R4M.

I think a little more SA could help you. Dont you check carefully the sky around when bouncing a lower con or diving down to help a fellow? I mean before and *after*, while you are going down and during the whole fight, that is.

Everytime I get bounced and gangbanged its my fault. It happened many times during this TOD. After three months of no flying my SA is almost gone    :)

tell ya what... If there is lot's to do then no... why chase a single con.   If it is the only action in half a tank of fuel then yeah, I'm gonna try to steal him from the other 11 guys.

Also.. if I let the guy go then sure as hell... when I see tracers flying by me it's that guy with the same 11 guys still chasing him.

and we do have a 152 in AH it's every bit as worthless as the real one was but it is a lot more common.

Fariz:
---------------------------------------
So, they should not? They should let you away, or decide and send 1 after you for a "fair fight"?
---------------------------------------

Five on one is imo, ruining the fight for everyone.  The one probably gets the best out of the deal, because at least it's a good challenge, and if he does get away, or even just kills one of the gangbangers, it can be a feeling of accomplishment.

For the five, however, it's a real waste of time.  If one of them does get the kill, it's nothing but a worthless gangbang kill.
The only worthwhile thing they're liable to learn is not to gangbang on the deck, because they're putting themselves in a position to be bounced when the target's friends show up at altitude to help.  But for some reason, this lesson is lost on everyone.

And just think how useless the gangbangers are for the guy that decides to stay over the fight and watch for more enemy.  He's liable to be overwhelmed when the enemy shows up, because all his friends are on the deck, trying to get away and re-grab all the alt they wasted.

-------------------------------------------
Such kind of comments is what makes AH not so good environment. With a time you grow a thick skin against such things, still sometime it is not a pleasure to hear, especially if you are sending someone <S> and he blows back with some accusations.
-------------------------------------------

Only good things to say after a fight are <S>, fun fight!, or something similar.  (not that I haven't slipped, and let a negative comment get through from time to time)

During (or before) a fight, however, taunts, and similar comments are all part of competative arena play, imo.

Of course, accusations of cheating are nothing but compliments, but if you kill someone, coming back and calling him a UFO warper is just pure crap.  At best, say something like 'little warpy there, but fun fight'.  You'll be much more likely to get the other guy to want to check his connection than you would by acting like a poor sport.

-------------------------------------------
I said it before here, but seems it need to be repeated -- one shall accept every time he is killed as an expirience which will help him to be better. If he consider its a bad luck, someone dweebery, or whatever, he loses the chance to see his own mistake, and to be better next time.
------------------------------------------

I like that--one shall accept every time he is killed as an expirience which will help him to be better.

First thing anyone should learn when starting to play AH.  In fact, I think HTC should make room in every cockpit and add the above mantra in bold letters, in plain view.  Let everyone read it, over and over, until they can't get it out of their heads.  :)
