you're just damned no matter what when it comes to racial issues.

you can be one of those "jerks come in all colors, i judge everyone equally" people - lol yawn yeah right grown some balls

- or one of those "i've got lots of black friends,homey!" - another yawn

- or you can say things like "i've met lots of blacks that were smarter and better than me" really? or are you just minimizing yourself for effect...? you feel that way when no one is listening too?

i don't know .... it all seems dishonest and uncomfortable when you try to force it into those preapproved social statements. best to just let 'er all hang out i say- that way people know you aren't BS'ing them.

my wife is chinese and we are both have strong opinions on race and by no means are those opinions flattering in all instances.  they're just based on experiences and not rhetoric from sociologists in an effort to reflect reality instead of conditioned opinion.

some people, especially outside the city,  talk to us in a really condescending happy tone trying to relay how much they approve of interracial marriage and how cool they are with it etc etc- it's just a crack up like they want a badge of PC-ness or something - they're good intentioned but i wonder if that'd still be the case if it were their kid......

i feel like telling them to just be honest and have a damned opinion and quit being all buttery - i can't say i know how black people feel but it must be something like that.

 what a mess;)

Mister Fish, I think it is great what you and your missus are doing to forward the cause of interracial relationships.  Why, just the other day I was saying to my friend how I think it would be wonderful for his daughter to date a black man.  Say, would you two like to come over to the luncheon I'm holding at the club?  You could be the guests of honor, since you're such an interesting couple.  Ta ta, now!
