That was why I asked the question.  Since I don't know what felonies these guys were convicted of, let's take the hypothetical case.  Joe Smith has been a good guy his whole life.  Raised a family, and been very politically active.  Unfortunately, using my example from the above reply, he was convicted of speeding to elude.  This is a minor felony, but nonetheless, still a felony.  Should he be barred from the position in the government, especially if he's exceptionally qualified for it?
