Yes, V1.11 was the best.  That was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far way.

Hey thanks for posting this, I like to see where folks origins came from.   :)

I never had the privledge to fly Warbirds. Once I was looking for a differnt sim, I looked to Aces High and saw no need to look further, though many of my squad tried WBs.

Looks like alot of great experience here  :)

I flew Warbirds beginning with WB 2.0 beta for MacOS in January, 1998 (I have fond memories of $10/unlimited beta flight time). Joined 303 (Polish) Squadron RAF in June 1998. In fact, I believe I was fd-ski's 1st non-Polish recruit!  :)  Heck, I have more seniority in the Northolt Wing than FunkedUp!  :D

Joined AH in June, 2000 and dropped WB a few months later.

I flew from the start of the 1.07 mac beta for 2 free months and got hooked.  I was flying on a PowerMac 6100--60MHz 16MB of RAM.  No joystick, just a mouse.   :D  Flew like this off and on for a few years mostly in bombers until I got a PC and joystick in 98.

Handles: -ddoc- -> pen-vk -> sancho
Squads: Regia Aeronautica, 1st Stormo Caccia, IV/JG3

Started in WB with the RNZAF using a Pentium 133Mhz, (waves hi to tronski and laika above).  Still using the same stick as then I grew to love the 109 and specifically the K4 variant.  Favourite memories are winging in 109's with laika, vulchfests in the training arena, (everyone in the squad takes off from one field in one plane type and try to kill your squaddies for 10 minutes), to races in B17's into enemy territory at 20ft AGL and the whole squad in Ju52's dropping over a hundred paratroops to capture a field with the AAA still up =)

Bailed out of WB when HTC offered me the chance to alpha test this puppy.  Been here since .26 and never looked back.

Yip,  Started WB's in mid 98.  :p   Got excepted by the 332nd Flying Mongrels and When AH opened Beta, we all flew both for a short time.  When AH went full bore, the Mongrels moved here, Full time.  :cool:

WB's Handle  rexx

Started WB's about .98 certainly 1.02.  Can anyone beat $240 month?  Obviously, I was not addicted, but I took the methadone treatment anyway.
