There is something to be said about the relationship between the MAW and the AKs.

I know there is mutual respect for each other. Proof? When a MAW takes out an AK, he makes it known to the squad on VOX. Any other opponent squad, not a word. The AKs always get announced, Why?

Because we know how good they are. And when they win a fight, you'll hear it on VOX too. "Watch your prettythang boys, that's the AKs down there."

So to the Arabian Knights...who fly Bishops....*shrug*

Winning or losing, it's always a pleasure.

I quit listening to diatribe from those that would ridicule for how I (or any of my squad members..eh..friends) would enjoy their payed for time in AH a long time ago.

Exactly ammo. Now apply it to this statement.

I personally don't "hate" any squad, at worst I dislike certain members of certain squads.

Key word is "I". Not everyone shares my way of thinking, nor do I agree with what every squad member of the 56 FG thinks. But we do respect each other and we have a good time. I believe we had this private conversation a long time ago.

Sorry for drifting off topic MAW's and all concerned..

ManX, you should read the whole thread and my responses with more attention. I do not "hate" the MAWs for flying N1K1s, but for impersonating a unite/branch name and not respecting it.

It's like those guys who walk around pretending they were a Navy Seal or Ranger, when they actually served as a cook, if they served at all. Or those mrons you meet at a cocktail party: "Oh you are French? Me too! My great grand father came from France".

If you pick a name, do your best to live up to it's meaning. I can picture myself at home runing around in a German uniform wearing my grand father name tag and medals ... oh man ... the beating I would have received :D

In this sentence, the MAWs are not a disgrace because they suck, they are a disgrace because they are  not trying to impersonate who they claim to be.

As for the N1K1 tag, it's one of their plane of choice. As for the Ganger, when they come, they come in group and you better bail in sight.

Anyway ManX, I don't see why you come here steer the toejam, as you are not a MAW nor a 56th. The thread was to salute one of them, why would I do that if I hate them so much? Why do I say hello to them when I run accros one online?

I like the MAWs, I hate their name. Get it? Now, go back runing after P47s before they reach their ack.:p

Frenchy,

I know you're not a bad guy but are you listening to yourself.  Your statemebt above is one of the most disrepectful comments I've ever heard about a squad.  You said we don't respect the Marine Air Wing.  Honestly I am extremely pissed at that statement and won't reply as I feel.  The reason we took that name was out of respect for the Marine Air Wing and what they accomplished during WWII.  Now maybe you think that means flying the same plane as them but it doesn't to me.  It means defending your country against aggressors and staying loyal to your country and your teammates.  I really wish you would let this subject go because you're totally in the wrong.

40Dog, I understand but do no agree 100%. Nevertheless, having the opportunity to chat/read with your members I do respect our comon interest in the ones who defend(ed) us and I salute you guys for it.

I have a better understanding of your motivation. MAWs.

I'm sorry, I thought this was a public forum. If this was an issue you wanted between the MAW and the 56th you probably should have sent 40dog an email rather than spouting some fairly insulting comments.

I really think that I have read the whole first thread. I was very surprised you worded it that way. Since some members of the MAW have taken it in the same respect that I have, perhaps it's your writing rather than my reading that is to blame for the mix-up.

Even in this statement you're using very harsh words to justify yourself. They're not a disgrace, they're playing a game and winging up with friends.

I'm starting to think that this argument is more about someone thinking in one language and then typing in another. I know you're a good player and sport Frenchy, it just kinda took me off guard to see how harsh you could have been singling one squad out of the hundreds that do the same thing and then posting it so casually on the forums.

Hmmm MAW missions tend to level a base a little too quick for our taste and they have the un-canny ability to fly in front of our guns… (killshooter)

LOL seriously though just wanted to send MAW an from -=MW=-

OK, OK.. I know how to settle this... New rule... from now on, ALL pilots in a squadron must fly something related to their squadron name.

Hmm.. let's see... well, no way I'm gonna go saddle up a wild spotted jungle feline and ride around, so that's out.

How about some of the other squads... let's see.. FDB.. ummm... no way I'm gonna saddle up a... well, nevermind, you get the point.

I'm sure our imaginations could run wild with this.. :D .

On a more serious side...
I would say this to Frenchy, and anyone else who flips the "thisorthatortheother dweeb" switch on simply because they disapprove of what someone else flies.  Get a life.  The biggest dweeb is the one who feels compelled to call others dweebs, simply because they don't do things exactly the way HE thinks they should.  If you don't like what someone else flies, then go find a game where everyone does it YOUR way.. otherwise, you're just being a rude, insulting, finger pointing .. dare I say it??? Dweeb.  There is way too much of this crap floating around on the board, for which HTC has thankfully started "moderating" somewhat, and definitely way too much in the MA.  I suggest to anyone who feels compelled to insult the other, do your talking with your guns.  Shoot em outta the sky if you dislike their methods.  Otherwise, keep it to yourself.  It just makes you look childish, no matter how well you think you have presented your "case".
As far as the MAWs go, I have had the pleasure of flying with them as a squadron member, only leaving to rejoin the smaller squadron that originally brought me to AH when it re-formed.  As with ANY group of individuals as large as they are, there will be a few who stand out in good ways, and a few in not so good, but they are a great group of guys who enjoy what they are doing, and do it well.  The zealous in any community attract attention, some negative some positive... it's a fact of life.  Too bad we can't all realize these "facts" a little more often and just do what we came here to do... fly, drive, kill, blow s@#t up, and generally have a great time.

The greatest of men often speak the least, and the least of men often speak the greatest.  (Skorp, Jan. '03) ;)

BTW,
I would like to send the MAW's a big for the organizational effort i've seen in some of thier op's. When they do squad ops, additional resources will be needed to repel thier attack, and it does effect the overall planning.

I personally don't care what plane anyone flies. It's a waste of time doing anything other then having a good time flying here with people we enjoy flying with.

I pity those who find the need to critisize others only in order to build thier own self esteem. Of course, on occasion, I will comment on the nikilame7dweebs, but that's usually in fun just to razz em and to get my anger out when shot down by one. But in the end, it's all in good fun  :D

lol seeker and skorp :)

56th and MAW are both great squad.  Flown with many of the 56th and fought alot of MAWs...great guys IMHO.  People can fly what they want til you pay their $15.00, and the MA is not exactly realistic anyway.
