The biggest mistake you can make in battle is to underestimate your enemy. You better hope your leaders opinnions are not as arrogant and stupid like the couple above.
The troops that were surrendering had been camping there for weeks with no supply, food or water. They had no hope nor did they probably even want to fight for the dictator whose method of power is keeping his people in fear. However the picture fed to you by the coalition censored and controlled media is not the whole truth. Just as they made people think they were using only smart bombs while about 10% of the payload landed there was 'smart' in any way.
Most of you seem to forget that the picture official Iraqi or US media gives you might not (or most probably doesn't) represent the opinnions and thoughts of an average Iraqian. They suffer under dictatorship with little food and no healthcare to speak of. The average Iraqian might be as excited as you about getting rid of Saddam, but nobody can say it out loud because they'd be shot.
If there will be a war, millions of decent and innocent people will suffer for the stupidity and arrogance of their religious and political leaders. If they had the choice they would change that. They don't.
You people seem to be totally overwhelmed by the propaganda fed to you by the media. It's so easy to bomb another country if you conveniently forget they are people just like you and me. They have families and children just like you and me. They eat and breathe just like you and me. They're not all animals albeit the powers that be up there aren't the brightest of the bunch. If a newspaper writes mocking articles about US because Saddam's propaganda office tells them to, it doesn't mean this is the opinnion of everyone in Iraq.
It's the diddlying religius fundamentalism and the brainwashing that's the root of this whole damn problem.
