More in the world of sports... sex and drugs at UO

Airhead So he would have been less of a popsicle if he'd gotten high and balled some skank?

You keep pulling this one out of the air, but there is no mention of any of that in anyone's post except yours. Maybe you just want to see this, but it isn't there.

He'd be less of a popsicle if he said, "I declined to go to this school because it isn't for me."

Fact of the matter is he WILL be offered sex and drugs at other colleges, and it'll happen at the other college he's going to attend. Just because it didn't happen on the first day doesn't mean jack toejam, it will happen, and I don't believe for a second this will cause him to leave his school of choice. It was just a way for him to make it public and convince people like you he's got "good morals" or to give him a good public standing.

It doesn't matter if he was a girl, guy, chimp or transvestite... I don't believe for a second that was the reason he chose not to attend that school, and I also don't believe for a second he will leave his school of choice when he gets offered sex or drugs.

It may surprise YOU, SW, but if you offer a coworker sex and drugs you are opening yourself up for a potential harassment lawsuit.

No, actually, it doesn't at all. I'm assuming this impressive statement was to make me realise something, but what.. I have no idea.

Of course your female co-workers should just keep their mouths shut and politely decline, right?

Yeah, of course. Where you got this from is beyond me.

I have a daughter starting college in September and I'd much rather have her date a kid willing to stand up for his moral convictions like this kid than date the kid who went ahead and balled the skank and got high.

Congratulations. Of course I still have yet to find a mention of me saying, oh he's a popsicle cuz he didn't shoot up heroin or screw some sloozy. I did say he's a popsicle because I don't believe for a second that he'll leave his school of choice when he gets offered sex or drugs there. I don't believe for a second when he does get offered drugs or sex (next week, next month, next semester) that he'll leave his college of choice. I do believe this was just a public opinion stunt and a means to appease people like you who believe roadkill like that.

Drugs and sex are at every college campus, and he being a football player will get it in front of his face more than anyone else except probably a fraternity brother. So, like I said, when he gets offered the aforementioned things, will he leave his school of choice and go looking for another one? I think not, because he'll be spending the rest of his college years looking for a college that has no drugs and no one there has sex.

This was just a stunt to gain a good opinion from people like you who believe that kind of crap. If you believe it was something otherwise, then your handle is truly fitting.

Certainly if this was a college sponsered act this is horribly wrong... but if it was just some jocks  team trying to impress a recruit... so be it. Sex and drugs at college? BAH! LOL. ANYway... funny they are staying home close to mommy and daddy. I'm *sure* there are no sex and drugs at San Diego State.  ;)

No Funked, I was just struck by the double standard that exists between boys and girls. Had this kid been a female athelete instead of a male athelete I doubt any of you would call her a "popsicle."

Whatever, my daughter starts college so I'm sensitive to the whole away from home do what you want thing. Anyway I won't win an argument if SW responds to what I type instead of what I mean so I'll quit while I'm behind. ;)

I thought drugs and sex were on the cirriculum at UO...I'm pretty sure you can major in it.  The kid is a popsicle, and so's Airhead!

We couldn’t call her popsicle because no sane person would offer her drugs and sex. If anyone did, she would squeal for sex harassment.

Russian, your parents must be very disappointed.  I hope you grow up before you attend college or go out into the world.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

In the interests of equal opportunity, I always tried to offer as many girls as possible sex and drugs.

Bodhi, I don’t know your previous experience in work environment but with mine, it happens just as I mentioned before.  Anyone looks at them in the wrong way and they squeal. They run at different standards then anyone else.  You might want to get off your high horse and stop insulting me with smart-ass, misspelled comments and look around (hint, get a clue).

If spelling is a measure of greatness, then I guess I am horrible.  But if poking at a dreg who has nothing better to do than picking on someone for saying no to drugs is, then I am king.

FYI little one, I know what you are trying to do, in saying he should keep his mouth shut versus saying something.  Thats the reason the drug problem is so bad in this country.  My hat is off to him for standing up for himself and his beliefs.  Too bad more people weren't like him, maybe then the rest of us would be less likely to hear assinine comments from people like yourself.

Ohh, and working at MacDonald's after school is not a measure of the work force in this country Russian.  If you think it is, you have a lot more to learn.

Old men, So this is what you’re squeaking about.  Drugs?  I share same views as you. But I don’t share same view of squealing. There are ways to repair country with out everyone backstabbing each other IMHO.
