Then how in the hell would you expect for the drug problem to end without "squealing"????  You best get your priorities aligned kiddo, as your current direction is severly tweaked!

Old Men

Like I said before: There are ways to repair country with out everyone backstabbing each other. Do you want me to start listing them?

Here’s one, increase spending on boarder line security.  Most drugs are not grown homeland.

And you talk about my spelling...

Here's an idea, increase penalties for selling, having, or using drugs.  Maybe than the point will get across.

I thought the best part of the story was a variation of the comedic line:

"You stupid, ugly, impotent, love muffin!"

"I ain't impotent."

Quote
Leo Hamilton, the father of running back Lynell Hamilton from Stockton, Calif., told The Stockton Record that his son was offered marijuana, alcohol and sex at off-campus parties during his official visit to Oregon the weekend the Ducks played Arizona State.

and the punch line:

Quote
According to Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti, his coaching staff looked into the accusations and found nothing to substantiate Lynell Hamilton's claims of marijuana use.

I wouldn't have guessed Mike Belloti thought 1 for 3 is a good record

Boys and girls are practically different species.  A double standard is quite natural.

I'd be suprised if - in a school that size - at least one girl didn't.

Wait a second... he didn't want to go to UO because he was offered sex and drugs, so he decided to go to Arizona State?  One of the biggest party schools in the U.S.?

Hmmmmm.

This kid was an "attention potato" from not only his father, but the media.

I'm with Airhead on this one.

Maybe, just maybe, it would be better for everyone if more kids acted like this.
Maybe there would be less drug usage if there were more role models like this kid.
Maybe this is the start of a sea change in colleges around the country!
Maybe drugs are bad for college students!!
Maybe there are a lot of kids like this young man.
Maybe if there were more kids like this I wouldn't have gone through the entire Humbolt County crop in the 70's.

Maybe not.

Actually my motives are purely selfish- I don't want my child doing some of the things I did at her age. It's funny how parenthood changes your perceptions, and funnier still that the behaviors we hid from our parents are the same ones we hide from our kids.

I offer congrats to the kid's father for having open lines of communication with his son and can only hope my daughter would be as forthright about similar experiences. I feel like berating or ridiculing this young man with name calling as has happened here only contributes to the peer pressure all kids face. What message does calling this kid a "popsicle" on these bbs send to our younger members? Really, think this through people.
