Yup, I agree.  Lovely terrain, loads of GV spawn points, but hills/mountains up to 25k?  Come on, please can we have realistic alts in future?  Don't take this as a whine, just constructive criticism! :)

I tend to agree... I admire the skill it takes to make a map such as this. Neatly spaced and easy on the eyes. But if the mountains (with the exception of those around GV town) were about half as tall, I would like it three times as much.

That GV bases and town in the crater is sure a lot of fun; it gives AH a whole new dimension. But it also brings out the griefers, much as fighter towns have in the past. As you said, there's a lot of goobers willing to crab over the mountains to pork V bases and vulch GVs. But the ones that get me are those who take over all the crater bases. It seems to me they not only hurt other teams, but their own when there are no longer any enemy to kill. Crater town is neat, but pretty dull when there are no enemies to shoot.

Kudos to you NB and others for a great terrain.

Exactly Grizzly. Almost had a major falling out with my squad over that issue on the weekend.

HTC is supposed to make some changes to the crater fields when the update is done. I am hoping this will improve play there a bit.

As for planes in the crater, I chose limit access..not deny it. Actually, bringing a plane in there should be rather futile. But, doesn't matter how nice you keep your pool....there is always some dweeb around that is gonna try and pee in it :D.

Best map yet!

Although I did lose like 6 Tigers in the center area before I figured out the lag was killing me at times... just have to suck it up and not use perk rides there.

Speaking of... it seems like it doesn't matter how good your machine and video card is there in the center... is that just because of the numbers of people there or what?

Hey!

We have "high terrain" out here! Quit pickin' on Kansas!

Quote
As you drive across Kansas from east to west you are gradually going up in elevation. Although the rise is so gradual that you don't notice it, you go up more than 3,000 feet if you start at the lowest point of 700 feet in Montgomery County and end up at the highest point of 4,039 feet in Wallace County.

The highest point in Kansas is named Mount Sunflower, although it's just a small hill, not a mountain. Mount Sunflower is in a region known as the High Plains. The High Plains, an area of open expanses of flatlands and gently rolling hills, were once covered by a short-grass prairie. Now, much of the land has been farmed and only small areas of prairie remain.

Nobaddy  on the map!!!

I can tell alot of thought went into this map to counter alot of the "lemming" actions and such...I'm sure there will be other actions that rear their ugly heads, but for now, its no longer a "who resets first and fastest" land grab buffet. :)

WTG on map. Nice change

Keep em commin!!!

;)

Sri dood...it's the numbers and the buildings. I will talk to HT and see if maybe making the buildings indestructable would help (less debris for the client to have to draw).

It is too big (3.29 megs) to email.    But don't let em convince you it is all mountains, there are plenty of areas like this too:
