about little SHANE
« Reply #75 on: February 19, 2003, 10:50:05 AM »
I've been reading these post and wow, no one seems to get it.  These post aren't about MAWs one time mass goon drop, it's about little SHANE and his need to be seen.  We see you SHANE.  We know you're there SHANE.  I personally think SHANE was not given much attention when he was a kid.  I'd like everyone from now on when you see SHANE online please acknowledge his presence.  Just say hello and tell him we love you.......................... .

Now for reality.

I say remove Shane's ability to post on this BB and all will be well.

Now do a little math of say a 20 person troop drop with 500 people on line.

20 * 8 = 160
160 * 500 = 80000

So suddenly the servers trying to blast out 80000 messages all at once. Debating how to aleviate the bottle neck.

HiTech .

And we wonder why this happens? HiTech is the programmer and he calculates with 8, when a C47 actually drops 10 count them 10 troops.

That would calculate out to 100,000 which is 20,000 more messages than Hitech figures. Hmm... You must have misplaced some 1s and 0s in your code HT :D

I suggest you get a handle on your members, icemaw and muckmaw in particular. It seems you have very little control over them. tsk, encouraging, even in "jest" things that will affect gameplay for hundreds of others, especially via known bugs.

I also suggest you take a reading comprehension course. that way maybe you can really understand what went on here, as well as perhaps these:

pay particular attention to section I. 11.

and most relevantly:

If 40, the Commander of the Maine Air Wing, told me, or even suggested I never post a word on this board again, I would follow without question. You know nothing about the squad, or it's members, or the control and guidance 40 exerts on us. Anyone who has earned my respect like 40 has, (Revvin, most AKs, the Damned, Grim, Ripsnort) receives my full attention and cooperation when asked.

Now, I only joined this thread when you, Shane, told Slapshot, my squaddie and friend, to "Take his head out of his ass", referred to him as a "Tardwad", 'Swapspit" and used the term "TardMAWS".

Let me tell you how the world works Shane. You could have replied to Slapshots accusation in a mature and non-insulting manner. You chose not too.

Try this kind of behavior in the real world, to real people and see what happens to you. For your own personal safety, I suggest you don't.

If you'd like to carry on a discussion with me or anyone else on this board, and be treated with respect, leave out the insults.  You'll find your position will be much better received.

lololol... perhaps if slapshot had kept his asinine accusation to himself, none of this would be occurring?

perhaps you should pass along the very same advice you gave to me to slapshot, hmmmm?

and my, my, my.. what a cult of personality 40dog seems to have if you'd do as you said you would.  people like you, well... need to be watched carefully.

maybe you can take the same class as 40dog and share notes.

Fortunatley, it's HTC's job to ban people here, if the power was given to their subscribers there would be little traffic and very few posters here.

"Its acctualy not a bug, Troops are exactly the same as other weapons with the exception of 1 thing. They are brodcast to everyone because they can be killed, bombs and rockets are brodcast to only people in the area of the drop."

If Shane had read Hitech's post and applied some thought, he would have realized that ice's "tounge and cheek" scenarios really could not have porked the server. Bombs, rockets, and torpedos do not result in the same broadcast logic as troops do.

But being the "helpfull" kinda guys he is , he trys to insinuate that ice's remarks are those similar to someone cheating or hacking the game and is a bannable offense.

The history between Shane and the MAW goes way back and lets say that its not a "loving" relationship, so for anyone that believes that Shane would offer help to a MAW is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

reading is phundamental.

icemaw, "Hmm just thought of a way to use mass goon drops. Hmm when ever some country is about to get a reset we up 100 goons and drop over frndly base server crashes no reset for you. Hmm I like it yup gonna do it tonight. I wonder if that would work at a base under mass attack instead of upping fighters for defense just up goons and leave troops on the runway hmm lots of good ideas to pork everyones fun."

and yeah, i hold no enmity toward MAWs beyond any immediate cluelessness i see them express. what happened yesterday or 2 months ago is exactly that.  however it seems some MAWs have an ongoing crusade when it comes to me pointing out their shortcomings. believe it or not, i *was* trying to show icemaw his post wasn't the brightest thing to be done; did you notice i didn't quote him, giving him plenty of opportunity to edit or delete that post?

yeah, i'm sure plenty of damned said the same thing about DmdBT - didn't make a difference, tho'.

i look forward to hearing how your class goes.

it's called "blind obedience" the way you put it.  bbs posting and in-game play, i.e. squad ops, are two totally different things. but if you're ok with that, all the more power to 40dog.

They are not really two totally different things in my eyes, although I can see your point of view. In game, on squad nights, we are required to fly with the squad, under command of the highest ranking officer. If he says "Auger, and get in the mission, we do it, without question."

Now on the board, we try to conduct ourselves in a manner that is becoming of a member of the Marine Air Wing. So the BBS member behavior is reflective of the squad in game, and could adversly impact recruiting, or the overall perception of our squad.

So my point is, if 40 came to me and said, "Muck, your out of control. What your doing on the BBS is not becoming of the squad. Please stop", I would do so, as would any other member of the squad.

Do you understand what I meant, now?

This could be the most ridiculous post I've ever read.

Everyone knows we use M3's for the retreat. Its too damn hard to get the sheep up in the C-47.:D

is this what 40dog told you to say, or did you manage to come up with that on your own after weighty reflection?
