Set up for 21 Feb: Marching to the Rhine
« on: February 19, 2003, 02:18:05 PM »
I feel the need for speed.  Late war ETO using the excellent Rhine terrain.  Plane-set is as follows:

Allies: P-51D, P-47D-30, P-38L, Spit-IX, Typhoon, Mossie, B-26, A-20G, B-17 and Lanc-III (two rear bases), C-47, Pnzr-IV, Osty, all the M's

Axis:
bf109G2/6/10, Me110G-2, Fw190A8/F8/D9, Ju87, Ju88, C-47, Ta152 (only at fields east of the Rhine), Pnzr-IV, Tiger, Osty, all the M's

Downtimes:
30 min for ack, 15 for hangers, 30 for other field objects, 60 for field towns, 120 for strat targets, strat disabled.

The RAF aircraft will be limited to two Allied fields in the North, while the heavy bombers will be limited to two Allied airfields behind the front.  Only the Tiger will be perked, at about 15 points.  I may enable Me163's at one or two of the rear-most LW bases (Schweinfurt, for example), as a means of aiding their last-ditch defense against a reset.  Still considering that.  I believe the map is large enough that it would marginalize its use until the front line was more or less on top of them.

Can we start this today ?

Currently the Burma setup is a CT KILLER.

It obviously does not appeal to many people, all week i dont think i have seen it break 10 people playing.
This kinda makes it hard to find a fight cos half of a country are likely to be in GV's which means if your lucky 2 or 3 may actually be flying.
At this time there is NOBODY playing in the CT and 30 mins ago there was a grand total of 3 "playing" well i say playing cos they were all on the same side !

Perhaps the previous weeks of this month have spoilt me as there was never a lack of targets until Burma was loaded up.

No.  In fact, I find it quite the opposite.  The matchups are interesting and the map is fantastic.  I find myself enjoying the CT more than ever with the current setup.

Seen 51, 40s, and even 90 once.

I've enjoyed Burma immensely, think it is one of the more balanced setups.  The upcoming fight will be a nice change of pace though.

Dont misunderstand me i do like Burma and the plane set, but i am fed up with the low numbers, tonight in the end was better with a grand total of 16 players.
Was fun no lack of fights to be found, perhaps its just the time zone i fly in.
It was very noticeable with the previous setups that a lot more people were flying them in my time zone.

If your getting over 40 people playing in CT then i envy you all those targets.

Having made a decision to not play in the MA at all this month, then i go to CT and find nobody playing or all on 1 side I figure its time to comment on it.

Will perk points be reset? Only fair thing to do if you are going to use the perk system.  Thanks

The only thing perked is the Tiger, most people dont have a ton of GV perks, and German Tanks were Much better than US or Brit tanks for the most part during this timeframe, be thankfull HTC did not model the Panther or King Tiger:)

I've been meaning to say that AH could use the Sherman tank (and it's minimum perked* Firefly variant) for quite some time. Remind me to someday. ;)

FireFly would be Nice to be shure, I beleave the 17pounder actualy had better pentration the the Tiger 88. But the Firefly was easy meat for the 75mm Panzer IV gun.
