I've carried the callsign "Hobo" since 1996 in the old, old, ICI days of Warbirds.  Had "Hobo" since day one of the AH alpha program.  Finally let my account go a couple years ago (too many other things happening in my life).  

So a couple weeks ago the fire starts burning again and I decide to DL the latest version.  Takes me about a week to resolve some hardware/joystick issue but last week I finally got to fly.  So I sign up for an account and choose my callsign Hobo  Oops...rejected.  "Hobo" in use by someone else.  So I think "Hmm...must be my old callsign locked up in the HTC database from the days of Alpha."  So I choose another callsign figuring I'd call HT or Pyro this week and get it changed.  Just got off the phone with someone (Roy?  Sorry I missed your name.) at HTC and turns out there is another active account with the callsign "Hobo".  Think I'm gonna be sick.   :(

Funny how a name can mean so much but "Hobo" is sort of my calling in sim-life and I hate to lose it.  So if anyone out there knows the current Hobo, I'd like to offer him (her?) a "settlement" to release it back to me.  If you're not extremely active or don't care too much about the name, I'd love to have it back and I'm prepared to pay you $50 for it.

I checked Hobo's score online...he may just be a 2 weeker... not much flying time... patience may negate the need to buy him off... let 2 weeks and attrition take its course.  :)

caveat:  Was only able to check current Tour as score page is down so speculation that he is a two weeker is based on little hard evidence.

Sorry to be the bad guy here, but it's JUST A CALLSIGN. There are lots of people on AH that don't have their old callsign, including myself. Either get a new one or try WBhobo or AWhobo like all the Air Warrior players are doing. Either way sometimes ya just gotta suck it up and move on with life. If the newbie quits I hope ya get the Callsign.

The funny thing is that the current owner of "Hobo" must have called HTC to request is specifically since it was already registered to you, albeit a dormant account.
