Funked has got me started. I've seen plenty of movies on rented videos that I didn't bother to finish, but to actually go out to a movie theatre and spend money/try to make an evening of it, and THEN call it quits part way through - those are the very worst movies.

Here's a few of mine.
  • Ordinary People - I don't care what the reviews say, this one was like watching thin paint dry on a cold December day. 45 minutes was enough.
  • Airport 80, the Concorde - at least that's what they called it when I went to see it. In IMDB it's Airport 79. The first of these Airport movies was OK, but they got steadily worse.
  • My Dinner with André - Got suckered into forking out to see this piece of krap. A friend of mine described the format of the movie, but said it was worth going to see. Such was the strength of our friendship that we remained friends afterwards. The entire movie is a single scene - of two guys having dinner- LOL.
  • Burnt by the Sun Set in Russia in 1936, the film dwells on the life of a Russian family. I was interested to see the depictions of Russian life at that time, but that was the extent of my interest. The screenplay was diabolical, with a scene which showed the family eating the first course of their meal which lasted fifteen minutes. I WOULD have walked out, but was with a girlfriend who wanted to see it. As a measure of its corniness, some people in the audience clapped as it ended - clearly most people had been bored to tears, but these people wanted everyone to know that THEY had understood it... (Just because it was Russian need not have made it boring. Dr. Zhivago was an outstanding movie. Alec Guinness had a cameo role.)
I wanted to make five, but could only think of these four. These days we can watch at home, and salvage the rest of the evening if the movie turns out to be crap. So I'll just add one more category.

Weirdest Movie I ever saw
  • Eraserhead - there is just no other contender for the title, and nor is there ever likely to be. Quite simply the most bizarre work of cinematography I have ever seen. Same applies to anyone else I know who's seen it. But interesting! I've seen it a few times.

Sexworld 2

It just didn't hold a candle to the original.

The only movie I've ever walked out of was Pearlmagedon er... Pearl Harbor.  Walked out about 1/2 way through the Pearl action scene.  Watched it a year later and was glad I did when I found out that not only had Ben faught for the Eagle Squadron and in Pearl Harbor, but actually flew in the Doolittle raid

I remember, we walked out together in our cowboy costumes and you tried to get me into that liberal bookstore for a cup of Joe.

Did you actually read it or are you coloring your perception of this book by that piece of crap Dianetics he did?  Scientology is crap, but this book was not.  (And it contains no reference or hints at the Scientology philosophy.)
