They feel that our very presence in their countries is so unholy and offensive that it warrants murder against us. Well excuse us for existing .

When they let go of dark age ideologies like this we can all begin to get along .

Who cares.  If they keep it up, we'll turn the whole place into a parking lot.  See how much oil you Canadians get then.

Well done ! You could've just joined in the discourse, but instead of formulating a point you dressed a tiresome "nuh uh" in sarcasm and adorned it with a  .

Another triumph !

I'm sick to freeking death with this lunacy from other countries telling us 9/11 was our fault, that somehow the U.S.A. which has given the middle east the vast majority of the money it's leader's have misspent, just makes Arabs so infuriated that they are willing to committ suicide in their jihad against the Great Satan.  Instead, I wonder if a religious perversion which promises 70 virgins upon martyrdom (a pathetic manipulative perversion of their own holy scriptures) is alot more to blame than anything this county has ever done.

Slo' your premise is tantamount to saying that Arab counries get to tell us what to do, (i.e. not support Israel) which is interesting because they assert that they hate us because we ("imperialisitcally") are telling them what to do.  Even more interesting is that there are a WHOLE lot more Arab and middle eastern immigrants in this country who have come to this country, and the West,  embraced Western ideals and opportunities as well as accepted the responsibilities of freedom.  I suppose that Slo thinks thase Arabs are the stupid ones, eh, and the lemming like "martyrs" are the smart ones.

What it boils down to is this.  There is a lunatic fringe hell bent on destroying Israel and the West that supports her.  There is NEVER, NO NOT EVER, any excuse for terrorism.  It will be rooted out and destroyed.  And don't give me any of that crap that one man's terrorist is another man's hero.   If someone suggests that a terrorist is their hero, then they support terrorists and they too will be destroyed.

The basic understainding is "If you get in the way of our hate for the Israelis, we'll hate you too!" ?

That's alot of hate to go around.

Take this from someone that has lived through it:

You cannot defeat terrorrists through military action.

IMO, the US should (and of course, im the uberexperten in this matter, *throws salt over shoulder* ;) ) or any nation wishing to get rid of them should form assassination squads and go plink them in their own turf.

The only other solution is to fight their ideology and reasons behind their actions.

Or just turn everything to glass.

what was it Patton said?

One doesn't win a war by dieing for his/her country, but by making the other guy die for his...

And learn to fly airplanes, and locate buildings...

Nice huh? I love the way this country is repaid for embracing foreign people and their cultures.

Look at Iraq today. 1 week ago, they were chanting USA, and Bush is great....today they are protesting our presence there at a ceremony that could only take place because WE LIBERATED THE COUNTRY!!!

How sh*t bellybutton stupid do you have to be? Are you that F*cking simple minded that you'll run out into the street and protest, or blow yourself up, because thats what a cleric, and Ayotollah, or a Priest told you to do? Guess what, they are men just like everyone else. They are not gods. They have an agenda. As usual, it's power. If Martyrdom is so great, why are'nt these clerics the first on line to strap on some TNT? Because when the little schmucks trip to Martyrdom is complete...the CLERIC IS F*CKING HIS WIFE!!!

You cannot reason with fanatics. Not all arabs are fanatics, but many are simple people, who believe in what they are told. They don't question authority like many others in the civilized world do.

It must be pretty sad when you blow yourself up, expecting 70 virgins, and all you get is BLACKNESS!! Guess what, your dead. Thats all you get, thanks for playing.

Worse yet, you get to heaven and find out THERE IS A GOD...he's a Jew...and IS HE PISSED!!!

The only Virgin you'll see is your own prettythanghole, and it won't be that way for long.

Here's my philosphy for happines....take notes Fanatics...

Live your life. Be good to others, no matter what they are. If you try to hurt me, my family or my friends, I will take great joy in exacting swift and brutal revenge when at all possible. Make your living. Hug your kids. Feed your family. I'll help you, you help me, and we get along fine. You go to your mosque, I'll watch football. Don't get in my way, and I won't get in yours. Simple. Too bad governments, religions, and societies can't figure this out.

The most vociferous protesters are Shiites with ties to Iran's revolutionary Islamic government.  They want to take advantage of the current power vacuum to position themselves for more power in whatever government evolves down the road.  Most Shiites in Iraq have no link with Iran, and I doubt most Iraqis want the coalition forces to leave just yet.  But the Shiites who have Iranian backing are organised, so they present a carefully crafted image of grassroots discontent.  Typical for all Islamist political movements, they want to intimidate other Iraqi political movements before they can even get off the ground.   Iraq's political future is uncertain, but the fact the Iran is involved was inevitable.
