Update on the Trinity update...
« Reply #60 on: May 25, 2003, 11:08:39 PM »
I realize this is off the subject (fargin thread hijackers!! :D)....but, I now have 3 more gv fields to change and the affected spawn points to check. I am hoping (crossing fingers) that I can send it in by Tuesday night. Just praying that nothing ELSE goes wrong :).

well beetle... thanks for the link... it appears that I was indeed the cannary in the coal mine..  the things I asked for were....

Gasp!  some closer fields and more cv's..  this to promote less gangbanging (steamrollering)... It seems that now, 1 year + later, that infinity is getting....

HT was not sticking up for me in the thread... he was sticking up for balance... he was sticking up for keeping his playerbase.   I think that he realizes that the game is getting out of hand in one aspect of gameplay... steamrollering.

If you go back 3 or four years bettle you can find AGW posts where I was shouted down because I said that real WWII pilots could see behind them.   Most said they would quit if there ever was a sim where you could see the planes behind you (except if you flew LW planes).

If it aint obvious... I won't see it.

Well, Lazs - I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm heading towards it. :D

You guys don't spoil what I do, and I don't think what I do spoils what you do. Your squaddie Apache has it - now quoted in my sig. He wants an RPS too, and I think that as time goes by people will come to realise that it's because we don't have an RPS that we have all the steamrollering. I know, I know - I don't like 1940 either. I'm a 1942/43 kind of guy!

Right now, HTC is probably being pulled in about 6 different directions. They have to monitor the boards, field requests to strat changes, changes to map rotations, analyse why people are quitting, work on AH2, try to give feedback to players about AH2 developments. If there are any issues that need resolving that remain unresolved, it's not that they think the current situation is correct, but more likely that they're spread too thinly to deal with it.

lol Beet1e, I just noticed your sig.

To qualify that statement. No, I don't think what you do affects me in so much as does the rinse and repeat suicide BS. At least you will fight to get out or land the crate. Heck, these suiciders impact so quick, I've shot the same ones down 2 or 3 times in 1 stinkin' sortie.

beetle... RPS would be fine with me if it weren't allied vs axis... I don't advocate it tho because I realize that it would be far too limiting for most people... It would destroy their choice and... it would do nothing to stop steamrollering in any case.

No... I advocate "area arena"   and early war area within the arena.  sorta like tank town but on a larger scale.

It will happen eventually because it is the only workable solution..  I don't know if it will be HTC that does it but someone will.

Oh... how did you like my 163 idea?  That seems to be working out ok.

I agree with that. Keeps the sides exactly balanced, even if not a realistic of WW2. I definitely didn't like the WB WW2A. The reason was that the sides were never matched. One side always had the upper hand, and it caused all sorts of side switching, and imbalance. That's why I left.

Just thought I would let all you thread hijackers know I was sending the updated Trinity terrain to HTC later tonite. I doubt it will satisfy everyone....but, poop on you guys...I like it :).

I have a screen shot of one of the 'enhancements" to tank town. I am hoping the new 'goal' there will inspire some non-gv'ers to give it a try :D.....

Hope this image thing works...thanks to Nacho for a spot to upload it :).

3 passes to knock down the fuel dumps and 10 goons to fix them?

What are the goons hauling to rebuild those huge tanks and
how many jerrycans does it take to fill those huge storage
tanks up?

I think its a joke that goons can resupply all that fuel in an hour.

We knocked out bish radar a few nights ago and it was back up in 20 mins....

How did the goons carry those big radar dishes and how the hell did 10 drunks assemble the radar so fast?

you cant fight a war with goofy arse strats like that.

Thats why it IS just about the fight.
Its the only thing thats real in here.
