ROTFL

When i was in NY a few years ago they had a really great american beer but i cant remember the name. It was tastfull and wasnt worse than a good german beer. I hate mass production beers (Heineken Miller Bud (puke)).
The only mass product beer i "like" is Beck's cause its from Bremen Germany (my hometown) :D

But

U ARE ALL WRONG!!! if we talk about a bracing Pils

The best beer is produced in Czechia.

There is no German Pils that could compare with even the big breweries (like Pilsener Urquell and the original Budweiser) in Czechia.
I dont know how they do it but they are simply the best.

That chart is incredibly inaccurate or the information they've received is incomplete.  My county isn't even listed yet there are about 20 locally brewed ales that are very strong, up to 20% ABV.  Could the chart be comparing Lagers rather than all beers?

Lager or Ale/Bitter though, that is the question!  Got to be strong ale/bitter for me.

Does the US brew anything like bitter/ale/stout?

Duedel, you're from Bremen???  You are now my official hero!

I still think you Germans produce some of the best tasting beers in the World. I definitely trust a German's opinion on beer. When it comes to American beer vs. German beer, we're not worthy! LOL

Dowding & Dracken - I agree, a pint of Guinness in Ireland is hard to beat, but in point of fact the Guinness turned out at Park Royal, West London is no different from that turned out by the Guinness Brewery in Dublin. The difference is the throughput in Ireland greatly exceeds that of England/Wales. Go to your local pub and look around: How many people are drinking Guinness? One, two, maybe none. Now go to a pub in Dublin. Most of the men will be drinking Guinness. At 7pm on a Saturday if you walk into a Dublin pub, they'll have a couple already part poured in anticipation of demand. They'll top those off for you and your friend, and start pouring two more. Irish Guinness is not kicking around in the pipes the way it might be in England/Wales.

99Gatso - are you still pissing it up at the White Horse?

Replicant - what happened to the Ruddles brewery?

Get off the beer boys, git yourselves Au Natural Firewater:

Green Chartreuse
The Green Chartreuse is the only green liqueur in the world with a completely natural colour. It is powerful and different. Only three brothers know the names of the 130 plants and how to blend and to distill them. They are also the only ones who know which plants they have to macerate to produce the green and yellow colours. And they alone supervise the low aging in oak casks. The ingredients found in the Green Chartreuse are alcohol, sugar, 130 plants and flowers. Alcohol content : 55% (110° proof US).

Oh and it has a fascinating history: http://www.chartreuse.fr/pa_history3_uk.htm

Ruddles, yeah, they got bought out by Grolsch and moved down to near Oxford.  Grolsch screwed them big time.  They then got rescued by some other real ale company but it still doesn't compare to the Rutland brewed Ruddles of old.  The old Ruddles brewery was about 3 miles from where I live and is now a housing estate (closed about 7 or 8 years ago).  You can still get Ruddles Best Bitter and Ruddles County in the old fashioned bottles.  Nearly bought some today but opted for Wychwood 'Hobgoblin' :)

There are other local breweries though, such as 'Oakham Ales' which is brewed at the Grainstore Brewery.  Apparently they're quite successful around the country although I've only seen their ale in a few places.

If you are out of Polish Vodka and are forced to drink piss err beer, then please, please please, either get Zywiec or go to Bevmo and get one of the mini-kegs of Spaten or EKB or the like.  I'll drink Ameribeer at a ball game but only for the purpose of washing down the Saags goodness.

BTW

GO DAN WHELDON (JIM BEAM INDY CAR)
