Haha

April 17, 2069
at the age of 81 years old.

On that date you will most likely die from:

           Cancer (34%)
        Heart Attack (23%)
    Alien Abduction (10%)!!
   Drowning (9%)
   Homicide (8%)
  Third Degree Burns (6%)

But of course the only reason of that is because 1.I'm younger and I havn't had 200 sexual partners :D

thats the plan. I'm waiting for someone with my blood type and antigen match to meet an untimely end so I can have one of their kidneys.

what is the policy in Norway about organ donation? Do you have to sign up or are you automatically signed up when you get a drivers licence?

we are rather backwards in the US. you have to sign up and even then after someone dies, and is an organ donor, the family can veto the decision to donate and the organs go to waste.

hawk220 Can't they take a kidney out of a live person? I've heard it done before, unless the policy is differnt in your case...

Well I hope something good comes along for you .

thanks for the sentiment Hawklore, I apprecitate it!

oh yes, I'm completely eligible for what is called a living donation. the rough part is that the vast majority of people don't know that you can live a completely normal life with one kidney. and it freaks them out to think of losing one.

In fact back in January, one of the guys on this board, Jonathan Bourgeois, offered to donate one of his to me, which was the coolest thing ever. our blood types didn't match, but the offer gives me hope.

my immediate family is not compatable , but my extended family is, cousins, second cousins etc.. but due to extreme family dysfunction and generations old family politics they won't even be tested for donation. ya, it sucks,

there aren't dysfunctional families in Norway, are there?:p

Damn Hawk, sorry to hear that.
What kind of match is needed to be a donor?  Maybe if you can post the blood type or whatever somebody from here can help you out?

thanks Funkedman

all that is required for donation is a blood type match, and , of course no serious medical troubles that would require a person to need more than one later in life. (they don't want to risk two people to help one) for instance,  with a family history of kidney disease it would be dangerous to remove one as he might need them later. regardles of where a person lives, they would:

1. do some simple blood tests at their dr's office to test for antigen match (they look for the best of an 8 point match) and of course blood type ( + or - doesnt matter, so an O- can get O+ tissue)

2. some medical background to make sure its safe

3. depending on geography, a road trip

4. slice and dice

5. recovery  (donor: about 4-6 weeks of taking it easy)
