Ya thats a neat feature in WW2 Online, but i dont think the Glass in AH is tinted like it is in WW2 online:), it would still be cool to be able to open it though.
I gues technicaly we already have some open cockpit's, the Gunners in the Kate, Val, SBD, Me 110C-4 for instance are open, it would be nice to see some of the above planes though.:)

Gloster Gladiator

Probably not.  Excelent manouverability but with only 4 .303's it would be at best an ASSIST KING, like the 202.  Might give the A6M2 a run for its money. :)

42

See gloster Gladiator above, but replace the 303's with 2, 12.7mm Breda.  can you say Queen of the ASSISTS, I thought you could. ;)

Sm 79

This just might make it in.  Nice warload but piddly defence.  Hell the Ju-88 A4  is in so why not.

I-16

Need more info on this one to make a desision, namely guns.  Nice manouverability tho.

Fairy Swordfish

[sarcasim]Yes, we need something slower than a Kate with the same defensive armament.  [/sarcasim]

Most of these are not realy MA types, though some would fly them their for the fun of it, they would have a big place in the CT I can think of a number of great set up's that could include the above planes.

It would look somthing like this(pic stolen from the other thread:) ):

I'm all for it! I have also requested many times about the possibilities of open cockpits in the past :D !!

Now, Rowan's BoB was heaven in one aspect, and hell in the other(ooh.. key settings... oooh....).. but in the 'heaven' side, they had a lot of interesting details within the game - opening cockpits and leaning out for visibility was one of them :) !

Currently the "O" key is not used in the fighters - I think besides that HTC would feel it 'tedious' :D - there's virtually no reason as to why the feature shouldn't be used... it'd be really great in taxiing, or carrier landings, too!

ps) of course, I don't think they should allow open cockpit flying at 25k...

Yep :)

Plus I really think the Japanese plane set could not be complete without a long range bomb/depthcharge hauling Mavis.

Many were built, they were heavily armed, flew huge distances,.
