Anyone remember how this years total compares with last years total?

I suspect the move from Dallas is going to hurt numbers.

We are at about 87 total attendees ( Pilots and Spouses / guest ). Once you add in guest speakers and all and other unlisted people we are at 90+.

Figure in another month for stragglers to sign up and we should top 100.

I THINK I heard there was 120 last year ?

Yes some people who live in TX are not coming - but those that could not make it to TX in previous years are making it to Indy.

Heck I drove 14 hrs from Indy to the AW CON in TX in '99 - just to show it could be done if you really wanted to GO  !

By moving the COn location you inevitably move farther from some people, but closer to others (or like me....the difference is a huge 27 miles....).

Keeping the CON in one location assures a certain group will attend more frequently, while the rest of the country feels left out.  Tennessee or there abouts would be the 'best' from an east coast centralized local standpoint, while the west coast would need to be  Nevada for the best coverage.  By moving the CON at least some of the time outside TX, it gives others a chance to attend without the plane ride.  I think moving the CON will have a great impact on the game allowing more players to do the CON thing.

Agreed, Alf... and once they're able to attend a "nearby" con, they'll find out how much fun they are, and will be more willing to make the next Con, regardless of location.

I was turned off by the con not being in Texas. Just doesn't seem right without the HTC crew there mingling with the community and hosting the show like last time. I'm sure others feel the same.
Though I do hope more players get the bug from this years con and attend '04.

I sent you that pic 3 months ago :D

BTW....the original is huge (4500x5000 or so) so it scales up perfectly.

I'm guessing that list is alot of AW converts to AH, I only recognize about 8 names. If you know 40% of those guys with limited MA time, it’s gotta be AW players me thinks. Nothing wrong with that though.

Indy is a cool, clean town, and pry a good location for a con. Chicago would be easier for people to just fly into, while being centrally located as well, but I’m guessing Jordi is from there, making planning much easier, and it should go over well. Plus, being from Chicago, there is way to much distraction and trouble to get into.

If people really like to attend these functions, they can get there with a little extra effort.
