ROFL, Steve.

Shane is OK, and yes, he has shot me down.  So has everybody else in the game, and I don't hate them.  Not even lassie.

Shane isn't a bad guy at all, even though he flies the La7.  Like Rod pointed out, the ones that have a problem with Shane are the ones he shoots down the majority of the time.  I figure, if they can't shoot Shane down in a plane, they'll try to do it over the radio.

Instead of whining about Shane, maybe the little ankle humpers would be better off going to the TA and learn some ACM and tactics? This way the little ankle humpers will at least have a remote chance of shooting Shane down instead of resorting to llama like behavior and start crying and whining on open channel.  Maybe this way we'll be spared such whine-fest threads like Wire1's "Shane called me a chicken!  Now ban him!   ."

whels you need help if you think pappy was a saint.

  from usmc files.........

"His irresponsibility, his debts, and his difficulties with the Corps continued to mount throughout 1939 and 1940, when he flew with VMF-2, stationed at San Diego. One memorable, drunken night, he tried to swim across San Diego Bay, and wound up naked and exhausted in the Navy's Shore Patrol office. Despite his problems on the ground, it was during these days of 1940, flying with VMF-2, that Boyington first began to be noticed as a top-notch pilot. Whatever his other issues, he could out-dogfight almost anyone. Back at Pensacola in January, 1941, his problems mounted - he decked a superior officer in a fight over a girl (not his wife), and his creditors sought official help from the Marine Corps. Greg's career was a hopeless mess by late 1941. "

He clashed with the leader of the Flying Tigers, the strong-willed Claire Chennault. He (pappy)quit the AVG in April 1942; Chennault gave him a dishonorable discharge, and Greg went back to the U.S.

sorry to say this sounds alot like Shane

AKAK using shane's terms.... A shane clone? A blind follower?  Maybe, but then .... who cares?
Shane has a knack for getting under people's skin, but from what I've seen it is only to people that rattle his cage.  If you're gonna poke the beast with sticks, you have to expect it to bite ya.
These same people that whine about the boy would be well served to spend some time in the Da w/ him.  Ya, they will probably get their arses handed to them, but they will learn quite a bit if they have the foresight to check their egos at the door.
Shane doesn't just go to the DA and slap folks around, he'll tell you how he beat you and why.. then give you a chance to try the same moves he just used on you.(learn).  Then he'll show ya something else, try new moves w/ ya, whatever you want.  Of all the vets, Shane seems the most willing to go to the DA and help a person learn the game.

Shane is alright by me...   I get a kick out him.

Lots of folks dont understand his banter is often an attempt to goad folks into a fight.

Back in the days of legend, before my time,  Guys often used these tactics to get some good compitition going.  some people are so thin skinned sometimes, a little prodding has them all in a huff.

If you look at more than his CH1 banter, you will see his a helpful guy, and wants to see guys having the guts to fight and improve.

Iv never understood why everyone is so offended by him.  Of course I get a kick out of Lazs too...
