JB73 and LePaul gave me this idea. Anyone got a story about rubbing elbows with the rich and/or famous?

I met a bunch back when I taught special ed. and was involved with the International Special Olympics.

Here's a quickie- (If I've posted it before... tough.)

I was taking a special athlete (in a wheelchair so I had to go along) into a picture tent. This was a place that had rotating groups of celebs that you could pose with and get an autographed picture.

In the tent at the time were ....

Muhammed Ali
Hank Aaron
and
Dick Sargent

Assuming I was about to meet Ali or at least Hank Aaron I asked the young man which  one?

"Dick Sargent"...... My mind went  NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!

I tried for a few minutes to talk him into Ali.... nothing doing. He knew dick about Aaron or Ali... he wanted Dick Sargent.

So I almost met Ali, and I almost met Aaron. But I did meet Dick freakin Sargent!

Since Im up here in Vacationland (Maine)and am at the airport fairly often...you never know whose private jet you'll see taxi up while topping off the Cessna

I've met Travolta a few times and Stallone was in town once...I think his jet was here for service...cracked windsheild or something odd.

Glimpses of Martha Stewart....

Stephen King is easy to spot around town.  Owns the local radio station (rock!) and usually has AC/DC cranked while driver his Mercedes convertible.

My brother waited on Christine Brinkley and Billy Joel when he worked at a restaurant down on the coast.

That's all I can recall at the moment

Oh, was at an Air Force reception...standing near the doorway...door flies open, takes me off my feet.  Guy offers me a hand up...Chuck Yeager.  Bought me a beer and hung out for a bit.

I flew from Los Angeles to Dulles sitting next to Carnie Wilson (after her surgery)... had no idea who she was until we started talking... Did not even recognize her... nice woman..

Not really a star, but I flew front seat in a sailplane with Jimmy Doolittles grandson in the back... Think he was a Colonel at the time...

That would be the ultimate for me, no one else would even be close.  Well, except for SRV but that ain't gonna happen.

Actually had a 10 minute or so conversation with Maureen McCormick (Marsha Marsha Marsha). She was about 23 at the time and so was I.

She was very nice.

Once while walking on the UCLA campus with a bud, this bombshell walks toward us. She is on her way somewhere in a hurry, but as she approached she flashed a huge smile and said "Hi guys!" like she was really glad to see us. We mumbled something incoherent back at her.

It was Jamie Lee Curtis. What a body on that girl!!!

Let's just say he made you an offer you couldn't refuse.  Sorry, didn't mean to stereotype you there either.  :D

Would you believe me if I told you I was actually Prince William, heir to the throne of England?

Have a picture in my High School Yearbook of me putting a jumpshot over Ronnie Lott's outstretched hand.

I owned him on the court! (looks around to see if he's nearby).
