you know i thought about posting something about this. Then i realized that whineing about something like this is even way over the top for a crazy liberal like myself.

especially when their is far worse going on in the news.
elk you gotta be a little more moderate.

Scribbling on the flag is OK, so is burning it.  If ya don't like it, don't do it.

I consider the intent[/b] when it comes to MY flag.  You burn it around me, I kick your arse.  You are defiling (in my eyes) what is symbolic of me and my country.

I consider MY President signing MY flag as patriotic and a treasure.

Perhaps you liberal, socialists bastards don't understand such concepts as honor or service or country (Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living."), so be it.

You have the right, under the protection that I have given with the possibilty of my life to procect, to burn MY country's flag.  That doesn't mean that I don't like it when you desecrate what it signifies and you better damn well better expect my response in the form of physical violence should you do it in my vicinity.

You have your form of expression and I will have mine in relation.  I served my country and I take extreme pride in it.  If all you can do is criticize without service or benifit then perhaps you should leave this Democracy and search out another place where you feel more "at home."

hey drunky they are all made in china, maybe you should learn that america is an ideal that should be protected and not a piece of cloth. Your anger is misdirected. Maybe you should get angry at the people that try to make more and more laws that restrict peoples freedoms.

This is what separates the Libs from the rest of us with a thread of common sense.  Jeez...

This is exactly what I am talking about...

It would seem that the CONCEPT[/I] of patriotism is lost.

I don't worship the flag.  I don't worship the president.  I don't worship the 'ol U.S. of A.

What I do is believe, and uphold, and have faith in, and defend the concepts that the Flag, the President, and my Country represent.

I think that many have lost these ideas and beliefs and some are either too stupid or bitter to either understand or follow.

I don't look down upon your right to burn the flag.  Its a right that I served to protect.  Just don't expect my to sympathise or understand your liberal, unsupportive perspectives.

Just be aware that when you express your viewpoints that my *viewpoints* just might be headed towards your head if I am within arms range.

Doesn't make you right and doesn't make me wrong.  Just means that I am willing to actively defend what I feel is right instead of derisively hiding behing rhetoric in a world of liberal ideas.

Yeah Frogman, I guess I am being whiny and shrill in expecting the POTUS, of all people, to have any sense of propriety and taste when it comes to respect of the American Flag.

Maybe I ought to join the masses and lower my expectations.

Drunky,

What if a Vet burned a flag in front of you then proceeded to kick your ass?  What then?

When I was in the service, I don't remember all those serving with me being conservatives.  Did I miss something?
