I'm still trying to figure out how to aggressively use cowl flaps to kill the other guy; when I get that down, I'll be the Ace of Aces.

Kewl!

Look! The leg-humper twins broke out of the kennel today!

You'd think when they break their tie like that, the one on the bottom might get hurt. Hasn't seemed to slow them down yet though.

Enjoy boys! I'm wearing goretex overpants; it washes right off.

No, I'm saying it's hypocritical and ludicrous of you to pretend that threads don't wander all over the place. You've done it yourself but don't hesitate to criticize others.

You are and have been, do and have done everything you criticize others for on this board. Dowding pretty well summed you up in the O-club. Cod knows Dowding and I almost never agree, so it must be a universal truth. :D

Obviously though, you don't know how or where I fight.

Laz is a very enjoyable guy, very intelligent and widely versed on a lot of subjects. In short, he's a great guy with whom to spend some time shooting the breeze. He also has some pretty good ideas on what makes good games overall and can back it up. All that didn't come through the BBS posts, but it did in person.

Might be the same with you but in your somewhat recent evolution into bitter, insulting curmudgeon of the BBS, I wouldn't be interested enough to find out.

I'm not pretending threads do and don't wander.  I'm pointing out that you are spending quite a bit of time completely avoiding laz's first post in this thread while trying to make your point.

Sorry, but if someone wants to keep acting like a dip****, I'm going to call him on it.  No matter how many people were awe inspired when they met him.  No matter how much time someone commits to trying to make people overlook what he said by highlighting what others have said.

A thread pointing out there is a rift in the community should not start by perpetuating it.  It should not start by ridiculing one side.  You see, if it does, it is called "perpetuating".  I know you would like to believe its everone else that's causing all the problems seen in the community right now.  That's just not the case.

Now all we need is for rude to show up and say how "furballers get jumped" whenever they try to make a "suggestion".

All this thread does is demonstrate that if you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Seems like there are plenty of guys willing to bash the map makers and whine about how their particular brand of fun is spoiled by them but not one of them wants to step up and do something about it...

Quit whining and enjoy the game with the tools you have been given (yes it is possible!), maybe there'll be less AH induced heart disease then.

MiniD, Bulletin Board Cop. Cuff him and stuff him, Mini. Maybe you should put up your own AH BBS like LePaul, eh? Then you can clean up that town, Sheriff.

I read the first post and it read more as commentary on the BK's (lack) of leadership style. I saw it as an attempt at humor, weak though it was. However, I'm sure you'll point out how wrong I was.

But then, I do know Laz a bit.

Thanks in advance.

well... first of all.. I don't think the original post could be called a complaint.   I also don't think that the old bitter curmudgeon deja could really find anything that wasn't true about it.  The rift is real.. He just didn't like it brought up apparently.   I appreciate deja telling me that everything is wonderful in AH gameplay and would believe that he has the answers for finding any type of gameplay "anytime" he wants but...  I never see him in the arena... in any kind of gameplay.   I dont want anything to do with his kind of gameplay.   I think him being in the FDB has made them bitter, boring and arena no shows.   AK's seem a little more fun tho...

as for the CV thing and the original post.. if you fly from a close CV and circle outside the ack of the coastal base.... people will often up to come and get you... you mayh get a few that are lower than you and haven't figured out that being lower is no big deal but then it gets a rythmn.... since the bases are close you can't kill all of em at once.. pretty soon the fight is more or less between the CV and base.   sometimes you are lower and sometimes higher... I don't really care that much.

vultching... yep done it, do it and will continue to.. the best fights are between fields... I have said that many times.  vultchs are the result of the strat guys killing the ack and not taking the field.  If I am there I will steal every vultch I can from em.   It is either that or fly home a sector and a half without firing a round.   Furballers generally don't kill ack...

How wrong you were?  Or how much you chose to ignore?  "I think we traumatized him", but he didn't chose to come here and post about it citing rifts in the community nor the whole traumatic experience.  "I hope we traumatized him" would have been a bit more apropriate.  Of course, feel free to post about how someone came around later and actually made a good point and about your undying love for lazs and the BKs.

Yeah, MiniD.

Look at the title. "think we traumatized him".

Then he sets the stage by describing the situation. BK's trying to start a furball. Sort of what Cit described in his "how to start a fur" thread. BK Countrymen kill the field while BK's orbit hoping someone will up.

Countryman asks who's in charge, who's the CO? BK's have none, countryman is perplexed.

No implied rift in the community to me. I see commentary on the BK's rather loose organization, something they pride themselves in, part of their image. Much like the FDB's portray, IMO.

But then, I'm not the official BBS Special Crimes Investigator. Perhaps I don't see the sordid, hidden subterfuge that will destroy BBS society.

There's just incredible evil everywhere, I guess.

This really is kinda simple.

There are many old farts playing this game(i'm one of them). Part of the problem is us....we have seen and done most of what is offered and long for something to renew our interests in a pastime which we've enjoyed for years and years.

I personally was a strat minded player who enjoyed a more realistic approach to the game. I used to think that furballers were kinda silly....just uppin from fields to get some kills, only to be shot down....then off to repeat the same over and over....they were food for my Pony. I couldn't understand why someone wouldn't want to land kills and fly their hops on a more realistic footing.

Then I realized that I didn't have the skills to deal with opponents one v one....sure, I could kill with impunity in the Mustang and land 3-12 kills most every hop....but when it came down mono y mono, I was incompetent. I didn't like that feeling...it served my ego poorly.:)

So, I told the squad that I was on a pursuit of excellence...skill building in the DA....I wanted to be able to leg um up and smackum yackum down low in the weeds.....most joined me and what we realized was this....it was fun.....not historically accurate.....not good for your score...just fun. The heart pumped and the hands shook and it felt real good to just get after it.

I, nor anyone else in my squad, would ever want anyone in this game to be deprived of what brings them some fun....I can assure you of that fact.

The point is this....now that I'm an adrenaline junkie, I would just like the opportunity to have my cake and eat some of it as well. Strat offers many more options than does furballing....it's a fact and that's a good thing. Some of us would just like to see HTC make some changes which offer us a few more choices....all without restricting other players in any other way.

This rift some of you speak of is nothing new....my experience over the years has found that if anything, in the end, these rifts are healthy for the community and bring unsuspected results in the long run. Sometimes gettin to that point gets ugly, but life ain't easy ya know?:)

I said it earlier in some post and I'll repeat it....I've followed Dale and Co. for a long time....he's always delivered....AH2 is around the corner and if any of you think Dale isn't listening, you're kidding yourselves:) We will have our tweaks to gameplay and keep on keepin on until we finally bore of it all and go find something else to do....that's a fact.

So in the meantime, we all should try not to take it so personally....everyone knows that Real Men furball...no need to rub that point in anyones face:)

Cyas Up!

Well said rude... though I don't believe throwing insults around and turning things into an "us vs them" is the way to go.  I will stand by that belief longer than most posting in this thread have stood by theirs.

And Toad.  Lazs mentioned that it was intended to highlight the rift.  Though, there was no argument, no complaint from the other individual.  Simply calling a difference in style a rift?  Come now.  "Us vs Them".

Of course, lazs will stick to what he does best... trying to incite and insult simply for reaction.  What's wrong lazs... not trying to get me worked up with "that stupid AK pizza map" comments anymore?  Keep trying, you may eventually find something that works.  I'm not betting on it though.

As for "bbs cop"... you may want to find where I've tried to get people on board with what I'm saying.  Where I've tried to motivate a community to my will.  You may want to find where I've started a thread insulting a group of flyers for their specific choice of MA behavior.  I talk directly at those doing the talking.  I'm not indirect, vague, generalizing.  Lazs, you are acting like a dip**** these days.  Not the BKs... you.  Toad, you choose to defend his actions and champion them as some kind of representative statement.  For that, you are acting like a dip**** too.  It's odd in regards to you toad... 2 years ago, you used to be the peacemaker... and bring reason into arguments.  Now you're just a lazs lacky posting/regurgitating his drivel both here and in the MA on ch. 1.  It's too bad.
