F4U-1, just get a decent bit of alt and don't spoil your E when heavy. Fast, maneuverable, can dive like a brick and never loses control.

P-51B, lacks firepower but at typical high alt fights there is nothing better.

FM-2, Furball machine par excellence. Good for a bit of fun from carriers.

La-5, much better than a La-7 IMHO, much better knife fighter and base defender because it can turn. The cannons suck Nilfisk though.

P-38L, been flying this a bit. Pretty easy too fly but poor views. Need some more hours to get a feel for it.

Bf-109G10, a nice challenge. Torque, overspeed problems, horribly difficult to aim that 30mm, poor views. Climbs like a homesick angel though and handles better than advertised. And gondies suck.

Last tour it used to be 109g6/g2, this tour 190A8 and 109F4.

109F4 is perfect plane for ma, pretty fast, can climb, can turn with most of dweeb planes, I simply love it :D

Puudeli1 has 45 kills and has been killed 34 times in the Bf 109F- 4.

I think I have come out pretty nice on that, since when i started to fly it was something like 10/20 K:D

Depends on my mood.

I usually avoid the Top Four planes simply because I want to be unique.

Sometimes I take the Ki-61 for turnfighting.  Sometimes its the 109F or 109G10 with gondolas for general defense.  P-51B if I'm going long distances to find a fight.  Or a birdcage Corsair for fleet ops.  190A8 for bomber intercepts or ground strafing (although I tried the 110 the other day and was pleased with the results, so I may fly it more often).

Seem to have reverted back to the La5 for most fighter action.  Typhy or F6F for attack, N1K or Spit IX for base defense and the Seafire for CV action.

Been thinking about getting back into the G6 or 10.

La-5 is the best kept "secret weapon" in the game. Other than it's rather mediocre cannon ballistics it's a good to great plane in all aspects...95% of the time I can offer a challenging fight to all comers in a 1 vs 1 or 1 vs a few fight....as for the other 5% it wouldnt matter what I'm flying anyway:).

But.... why bother with the La5 when there is the La7?  After all, the La7 does everything better anyway.

Actually,

I think the la-5 does everything better with the exception of pure top end speed and cannon ballistics...truthfully I can't remember the last time I lost a 1 vs 1 (la-5 vs la-7).

Looked up this tour #'s...I'm 5-4 vs la-7 in la-5 so obviously been killed by em...but cant recall any in a "dog fight" type setting...niggits been getting GB'd alot while im on. overall 82-47 so a little worse than average....but I've been flying off of capped fields alot.
