It's harder to make a good beer than a stick figure computer model.

It's harder to make a good beer than a stick figure computer model.

I would say the exact opposite.

I brewed beer once with dried extracts and a kit.  The second time i used grains and haven't looked back, since.  It just came naturally.

Art does not.  I have to work really hard at it.   :cry

That game has been played.  It's real Chalenging, but the 3D modeling is good.

Well, I need you to come finish airbrushing the nose-art on my boat then, because I really suck at it.  I have a race, this weekend and really need to finish.  Would you like to play with my dinghy?

(http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff107/tymekeepyr/Boat/Nose%20Art/NewMuttNoseArt_1_zps20ce8187.jpg) (http://s239.photobucket.com/user/tymekeepyr/media/Boat/Nose%20Art/NewMuttNoseArt_1_zps20ce8187.jpg.html)

The beer I can help you with.  Acetobacter (a genus of acetic acid bacteria) has combined with oxygen to conspire in converting your ethanol into acetic acid, the main component (~8%) in vinegar, aside from water.  Although there are other types of anaerobic bacteria that will do this, this is the most common.  It happens after primary fermentation (it first needs the ethanol to convert) when you transfer to a secondary fermentation vessel for dry-hopping, etc.  The secondary vessel should be filled completely, or purged of all oxygen.  I do this by transferring to a secondary before vigorous fermentation has stopped in the primary and before all the yeast has flocculated, thereby allowing the co2 created by the fermentation to purge the container of any remaining oxygen.

If your beer has soured in the primary (not just vinegary, but mouth-puckering sour), it is more likely that you have a lactobacillus infection (Belgian Lambic beer and Berliner Weiss) in which case, you had better practice a stricter sanitization regimen :)

What I love is a thread that was started for the sole reason of flame baiting and trolling is allowed to stay open like this. These trash threads do nothing but reflect poorly on the player base and add no value to anything........other than provide entertainment and cyber chest thumping for children.

This has been going on in video games since the days of the BBS. I remember a time when two players got into it because someone used Scripts in a BRE game. There were two games setup, one with scripts and one without, the ones who used scripts always considered themselves "Superior" players because they had access to scripts that basically automated the game. Same for Tradewars 2002 - idiot grown men would act like retards for nothing, generally it was all "ego". Every game since the first caveman had ego driven players, nothing has changed in over 20 years for me, I don't see anything changing anytime soon.

Sad thing is the community doesn't stand up to this, instead they just ignore it and continue to let it continue. Its nothing more then online bullying.

this is mostly true, I have found most people especially those who are bullies(chalenge is a bully... a keyboard bully)....don't like it when knuckles or foreheads get smashed into there face......

Junky is also correct most big guys have never had to throw down due to everyone thinking they are to big to fight....when it comes right down to it....they have no clue and go down just as easy as anyone else.

speaking from experience in brawling....the small guys are most often much tougher then the real big guys...toughest guy I fought was about 5'6"...... I could rest my foot on his head.....but he was one tough mother..... could take a punch like no one else.....the most feared guy I knew locked down was 140 lbs.(he was feared just because he had no problem putting a shank in someone not because he was a fighter)

but then there are the truly BIG guys.....I tattooed a guy in Tuscon AZ who was 7' 4" 540 lbs, his hand (where I did the tat) was easily 3 inches thick....and to be perfectly honest it was the first and only time I have said to myself before doing the tat...." Paul whatever you do...don't screw up this tat" :rofl :rofl :rofl it ended up being a great time tatting up the members of the "Dirty dozen" and "filthy few" bike clubs...naked chicks running around  :O was a hell of a night. :rock :rock

Seriously, I ribbed Chalenge here for his videos, but I did so non-maliciously.  99.8% of the time I am razing someone it's just that...razing.*  I do, however, draw the line at giving someone a hard time for things like ideas to improve the game....thus my statement in the other recent Chalenge thread.

If Chalenge shows up at my house....let it be known I have a gun and a guarddog!

Well...ok...I have pictures of a gun.  And the guard dog is a Chihuahua. She's mean tho'...7 lbs of pure vicious rage.  So watch it. :frown:

I hear that. My son was into it with some kids down the street last summer and their dad (late 20s early 30s) came down to give me a arse whooping.....I just turned 48, 6" taller and 100lbs heavier.. Anyway, he found out that sometimes the big don't always drop so easy :t. I ended up with a torn shirt and some pulled muscles and he left with several gashes all along his head and a broken nose. Haven't had neighbor problems since. As a matter of fact he waves at me when I drive by now. :D

I do have to admit though when it was all over I felt like I'd been hit by a freight train. Every muscle in my body ached for a week. I knew right then and there I'm getting too old for that crap. I told the wife that next time I'll just grab a bat and start clearing the street.

220!  :O my gawd that's a big boy. My 16 year old is a buck 50 but is stronger than a ox. Ahhh...I guess this is where I start to receive the messages of love and adoration from the Muppets many fans.  Excellent!  :aok

Why did I join up? *shrug* The pay sucks..so I dunno.  I am sure that signing on was, of all the sins I have committed in my 47 years on this earth, the very smallest.

Uptown, I have a challenge (not Chalenge) for you:

1.) Name one squad in this game that isn't made up of "easy mode geeks"*?

2.) After you name this squad, please go find a mirror

3.) Gaze deep within this mirror at your reflection.

4.) Now say "<insert squad name here> is the only cartoon squadron in all of Cartoonland that isn't made of up of easy mode geeks." as loud as you possibly can.

5.) Please repeat this action twenty times.

If you can do this twenty times without:

a.) reflecting on how absurd it is to even imply anything in this game is serious.
b.) considering how you are taking this game WAYYYYY too seriously
c.) appreciating that this is a video game made up of people playing roles which are caricatures of who they are in "the real world"
d.) cracking a smile at the absolute insanity of taking me up on this challenge (again, not Chalenge)..and that by doing so, you just proved b.)
e.) realizing and that your wife and/or family is likely standing behind you wondering why you are shouting

...I'll then happily reconsider your argument.  ;)

* Not going to dispute the "hippy" part...Christ...I think some of these guys were at Woodstock!

Havering said that we are no slouches in 47's not to mention some of us are decent in 109's  so please back off
And I'm fairly good in the fight and my brothers are just as good if not better. Be careful what you wish for. As we have a fight chance just as much as anyone else

Oh for goodness sakes man! That IS shameful. I know vTards that could make it on the muppet B list.  Hell just look at vIOLATER. I misspoke when I included her in referring to "easy mode" for I see her struggle to get a grip in his aircraft all the time. Punctuation marks are symbols that indicate the structure and organization of written language, as well as intonation and pauses to be observed when reading aloud.
In written English, punctuation is vital to disambiguate the meaning of sentences. For example, "woman, without her man, is nothing" (emphasizing the importance of men) and "woman: without her, man is nothing" (emphasizing the importance of women) have greatly different meanings, as do "eats shoots and leaves" (to mean "consumes plant growths") and "eats, shoots and leaves" (to mean "eats firstly, fires a weapon secondly, and leaves the scene thirdly").
The rules of punctuation vary with language, location, register and time and are constantly evolving. Certain aspects of punctuation are stylistic and are thus the author's (or editor's) choice. Tachygraphic language forms, such as those used in online chat and text messages, may have wildly different rules. For English usage, see the articles on specific punctuation marks.

Fun fights last night and was great getting to know you, Uptown.  It was just what I needed after being outnumbered and mualled all night in MA furballs.   :D

For the record, OldNo7 is good peeps...had even more fun chatting with him then the fights.  :aok

Thanks also for the c202 intro...that's a fun plane...can't believe I've overlooked it for so long.  Wish the guns were a bit better tho'...with my shytty gunnery skills I need guns with some hitting power to make every hit count!  :lol

Oh for goodness sakes man! That IS shameful. I know vTards that could make it on the muppet B list.  Hell just look at vIOLATER. I misspoke when I included her in referring to "easy mode" for I see her struggle to get a grip in his aircraft all the time. But by golly with enough training that young lady and yourself will get to fly with the big boys in no time.  :joystick:

I'm pretty positive I've played this game longer than you.

I'm pretty positive I am better in more planes than you.

Yeah I was #1, 2 fighter pilot for a couple months back like 5 years ago. whoooopdeeedooooo bazel. Took a 4 year break and just returned back to the game.

We don't have "B-listers" in the Army of Muppets. Everyone in our squad is excellent or they wouldn't be in it.

We do have crap talkers but we back it up with excellent ACM and grand experience.

Muppets don't take crap and we will prove it in the DA any day for the rest of you crap talkers who make remarks about our squad.

:rofl I think this one swallowed the hook! Thanks for providing me with your background and the background of your squad. I have to admit, that #1 fighter ranking just sends chills up my spine.  Obviously I have picked on the wrong guy to mess with and will be taken to the DA and given the "grand experience" treatment if I continue along these lines.  :uhoh

Don't want no scrubs

Did you just quote TLC? :D

I would kind of agree with Bone that AoM has lost some awesome sticks who didn't get replaced with similar sticks (m00t, Grizz) but they are still pretty stupid good sticks.....

Dedalos
Batfink
You may not like him personally can't say he isn't a good stick Fester
Kappa
Redbull

But look at all the squads The Few lost a lot of talent when Bone and all them left to start their new squads.

Honestly looking at the rosters Few vs AoM with current rosters....The Few would struggle more for a win, still could get it but would be harder for sure.

The community has a lot more "dogfighting" squads now then it did 3-4 years ago.

I never said I had an unhappy past. But I appear to have struck a nerve given you used two separate posts to reply. I am, as you say, nothing special in the game.  An average stick. Never claimed to be anything else.  So why two posts?  Why such attention to one so beneath your imperious gaze?

You were one of the better sticks in the game. Hats off to you for that. Yay! But your personal conduct in game and on the forum has been and likely always will be a reflection of your personality shortcomings.

Sounds like someone is still a little butthurt that he didn't get voted in......  :bolt:
I had my chance when Grizz told me to Join back in 2007 or somewhere around that time back then you didn't need a vote to get in.

I would have been a Muppet had I grasped the whole being an ultra melon personality in game so I developed my own.  :D

I logged on just in time tonight to hear DrBone make a very queer comment on squad channel tonight and DrSpek quoted Top Gun and replied "Quit giving me a hard on".

These guys are f@gs.  I made a mistake letting these f@gs in the squad.  I booted them.  Invites resent to Slash and Bear.

Notice: Yes, most of these people are adults even though we don't act like it. The game is fun, but......it isn't real. Don't let this BBS change you opinion. Laugh at us, pity us, but if we were actually in a room together we would probably act more maturely..........ok, not sure about that. In truth we would all be drunk telling lies to each other.

Its like a "Yo momma!" but it just keeps on being the last insult because someone cannot come up with something new.

/i wish someone would compile a list of who says "voss" the most, just so we can have a new conspiracy/insult to blame those who continue to bring it up monthly
//if you don't know, search the forums, it goes back to the early 2000s, yet continues to be used by idiot newbs who were not even in aces high for the past 10 years

Quote from: Badz

Now I guess that all this could be forgotten if Voss had gone away, but he is still here, and he is attempting to rebuild his stock in the community.
Only recently he put out a call to the Aces High community to become involved in another project, that appeared to have all the hallmarks of another scam.
I was amazed when I saw it, and I thought to myself, "Here we
go again". Make no mistake, given the opportunity I believe he would do it again, it even looks very much as though he has actually tried already.
But fortunately, nobody took the bait. They never took the bait thanks to the efforts of those who remember, nobody has been allowed to forget.
The community has successfully protected itself by not allowing others to be taken in. That in my humble opinion is the morally correct, right and proper, thing to do.

When I see folk rehash the Voss stuff (as you call it) I'm always pleased to see it, because everytime it comes out I think that perhaps another few individuals have been made wise to him.
It also saddens me to see others defend him, because they are only helping him build a platform from which to strike again.

Just doing my part in keeping the awareness alive.  :aok

I wasn't at all shocked to see this thread; on the contrary, I expected it. Chalenge either has serious mental issues or is doing everything he can to be a troll. After a while, it gets really old. Similarly, it gets old to hear people accusing him of being somebody else with very little evidence to support the claim.

An individual being caustic and nauseating of their own volition is entirely possible. They don't have to be the same person who was almost as caustic and nauseating before them.

This is from a close associate who was part of the Voss scam called 'TAS' .. and aye, Maverick .. he probably took the name of the squadron, but the scam was not done by the squad ...it was perpetrated by Voss.

> How much money did he get from who?

Before I answer your question, I'll put my cards face up on the table, just so you know where I'm coming from.
Back when Paul "Voss" Hinds began his Scam I had already been playing AW for several years. Voss was a member of an Air Warrior Squadron called the 13th TAS, a Squad that has since had links with other online flight sim's and is also currently running in Aces High.
I only mention that because TAS was the name of the new online game at the centre of the scam, and it is important to point out that they were in no way connected with it, as far as I know the other members of the Squad are all honourable men.

Also, I've never written any of this down before, so by way of disclaimer, I will say that I'm working entirely from memory, but this is in any case how I remember those events as they occurred.

I was one of the beta testers for TAS and although I was one of the lucky ones, the scam cost me money, and wasted a great deal of my time. Also, let's not forget that at the time this was the biggest, longest and most outrageous scam ever to hit the flight sim' community! Now you know where I'm coming from, I'll answer your question.

The person who lost the most was the main investor, Michael "Amok" Hobuss, who I believe was one of Voss's AW Squad mates. From my perspective as one of the beta testers, the deal appeared to be that Voss did all the programming and design while Amok covered the expenses and development
costs, including having a new powerful development machine delivered to Voss, setting up and maintaining the beta team, bulletin board, and all advertising and promotional costs.

Now before we go any farther, let's just look at that set-up. Voss had built credibility by claiming to have two doctorates, and vast relevant experience, he was not just exaggerating, he was deliberately giving false information to a squad mate, in order to
encourage him into parting with money and equipment for services he knew that he could not deliver.

He was never in the CIA, was never an F-16 pilot and he did not shoot down two enemy aircraft has he claimed, he did not own
a P-51, and has probably never even flown one, and he did not have two PhDs.
He fabricated that entire web of lies with the obvious motivation of securing investment for his own personal gain.

This scam lasted a long time, and was fed with screen shots that looked magnificent, but which were in fact only artwork, and the delays were blamed on all manner of incredible circumstances, a scorpion bite, brain tumour, even some mention of special missions with the CIA.

During that time a large number of people were involved on the beta site, and I was one of them. I've heard that some of the beta testers were also asked for front money, but I can't recall being asked, but I do remember that I didn't send money. So I can't confirm that.

The scam dragged on so long that someone eventually checked into his background, and his military service was the first thing to come under scrutiny.
When it transpired that he had not been an F-16 pilot in the
USAF, he invented the CIA story to explain why his name didn't appear in military records, but the wall was beginning to crumble.

As more of his lies were exposed, Michael Hobuss became suspicious, but no doubt found it very hard to believe that a squad mate would lie and steal from him, so at that point he was actually covering for him.

Then things began to move quickly, because his stories were stretching credibility to the limit. I know how long you need to remain in education to get a PhD, not to mention two! Computer skills that exceeded those of the best programmers of the day, USAF training, a flying career, converting to F-16s, recruitment by the CIA, a privately owned P-51, and this man appeared to have achieved more than most could manage in two life times.

Everyone was suspicious and people were asking awkward questions. Michael Hobuss was also getting nervous and began asking awkward questions too, and that's when Voss disappeared. The Scorpion bite! It was reported that Folk
even visited Voss in hospital, so perhaps that part was true, but it just went down hill from there.

Time dragged on, and after more revelations, and no further evidence that the game even existed, Voss was supposed to have a brain tumour resulting in the end of the game's development, but then Michael Hobuss blew the whistle!
He admitted he had been conned, and lost his hardware, the
expenses and development costs, and that there never was any game. Any beta testers who had fronted money to the project had lost it. I had spent a lot of time logging onto the beta test site and incurred telephone costs and wasted many hours of my own time, but I was one of the lucky ones!

How much did Michael Hobuss eventually lose, I can't say, but I'd guess the figure must have been at least several thousand, and to be fair I heard that he was able to recover some of it. I'm not even sure how much I lost, I certainly wasn't bothered about it because it would have only been a fraction of what I was spending on AW at that time

This was a classic con! He fooled an investor, into parting with money and goods, by pretending to be something he wasn't.
The scam involved a large number of people, and left the community shaken, not because they had been taken in by a conman, but because they had been taken by one of their own,
some one many believed to be a squad mate and a friend.
For many it wasn't so much the money as the betrayal, that hurt that most.

I like the means where they work hard to rehabilitate themselves and it shows (no matter their relative skill or talent).

I don't like the means where they try to point out how there are others in the world who have character flaws as bad if not worse so leniency is warranted (especially if they expect additional consideration because of their skill or talent).

but haters gotta hate. its the way of things.

Quote
What you probably have come to understand is that regular people hate success, particularly the success of somebody who is their better or superior.  These types of people are usually incapable of being subordinate to anyone, and instead of creating a situation where you could probably have helped them improve their abilities, they would rather just attack over some nit picky ridiculous non issue as they fear that they may not be able to actually improve themselves, and it's simpler to try and drag their betters down to their level instead.

In any case, don't let the idiots on the BBS get you angry, I realize that can be tough, very tough at times, but you figured that out on your own by the looks of it and have just let the rest of the BS pass by.  I worked for some celebs in Hollywood and elsewhere with the private military company I worked with after I did some tours in the mid east, and after that experience it really opened up my eyes to how much people love to attack those that have been more successful than themselves.  It bothered every one of them, including some very tough guys like Bruce Willis, who just happened to be actors, but are otherwise pretty solidly mentally and physically tough people.  If it can get to them, don't feel badly about it getting to you, but also remember that the reason it is occurring at all is that you're better than them, and take heart.

Yeah this is a game, so you know what I do not act like this in real life.

but, I get my stress of the real world out on shooting you punks down. And if I am not on your team, go ahead and be prepared to face me like an enemy, I enjoy it, it makes the game more exciting for me. Because I am the enemy and I want to shoot you down as many times as I can.

I have a sicknasty squad that are the best wingmen/sticks/funny as hell people in the game. We aren't score potato dweebs so we like to get dirty. We are a squad that looks for furballs and dogfights in the MA and DA. We don't have to fly and p51s and 190s so that we can run and pick. We dont fly spits because they are too easy for us, we like challenging planes that we still pwn you in. We furball hard and never run (unless it takes 4 to shoot us down which is normal). We are the enemy. So yeah we talk trash because we are the enemy. We are here to shoot you all down.

Ill do my best to get on tonight and through the week. 8PM est.  Don't be afraid to ask for a DA match if you see me in the MA  :aok

Deb.  If he can't beat his chest.  I can beat mine too.  Just putting another noon in his place who thinks he is bad.  Please.
Thats childish - if you consider yourself as a child, go forward. Nothings wrong with it, there are many adults here acting like angry 12 yers olds.

When like 5 years ago?

I remember fighting you, yeah I think you did beat me a couple of times.

We always had some close fights and I know I got you at times too.

You were a pretty good stick, but our fights went generally went both ways.

You probably got the best out of me that day. It happens.

You still cant stop? Seriously, we should be allies as we are both anti-horde tards - yet whats going on. Damn it. He offered a neutral resolve of the differences, yet you still trying to claim that you owned him, and i really dont have the right to call this behaviour childish? Doooode... dooooooooooode....

Still seeking for some drama? Because i do not.

Of course im on Violater's side, because he is a squaddie of mine while you arent. Dont bring up deep consequences though - it is the way it goes in my world.

Nope, you missed my post. There is one member of my squad who - as you say - guilty in everything (lol), yet i just listed like 15 others. Would you say that all of them are scorehores only because you dislike Fester? Arent they the members of the said squad too? Still, even though IMO bruv is far worse than any Fester (yes, i would kick the hell outta his face if i had the chance), i wouldnt say that the "The Few" squadron is not a good one, with a bunch of straight and cool people around.

Got it now? This kind of universalisation is a faulthy logic, bringing it up as a proof is just wrong and feels like someone is looking for some drama.

I don't get all the Muppet bashing and the anklehumping that is going on in here or even the statements that we have somehow lowered our standards. I've been in the squad off and on almost since the beginning back when Wldthing took me under his wing when I was average at best. If they liked you, you liked their style of play and were willing to learn they'd take you in. We have always had an A-List group at the top carrying the flag over the years, whether it be the HoF roster at the beginning (too many to name), Morpheus and Xj when they were Muppets, Skyrock, then Grizz and Sunsfan, but it's never been a requirement to be of that status.

If you did not make the squad (or were kicked out), it probably wasn't because you weren't good enough, its more likely because we or enough people in the squad don't like you.

The Muppets are a rare bunch as they have so damn many top shelf sticks, one would think that all the egos in there would tear the squad apart. But in reality all seem to gel together perfectly. That's what makes them so rare and so dangerous. And I think that's why they're the squad that folks love to hate. I think some are jealous of their skills, some think they cheat, and some kiss up to them in hopes of being one of the "cool kids".
I tend to shy away from them in the MA as I don't want to be seen as a pathetic Muppet groupie....they have way too many of those types already. But I will say the few times I've swallowed my pride and asked a few of them for help or a few pointers they've always been real nice and helped me out.....hell XJ even made my avatar for me. So I can't help but to like the knuckleheads. But I won't tell them that. What I will tell them though is they suck and I'll whip all of them like a rented mule if they mess with this ole boy!  :devil

in my opinion a lot of animosity towards muppets revolves around most of them being willing to challenge anyone. when attacked in game or on ch200 or bbs the mindset of a muppet is pretty uniform...

attack attack attack. however this only happens when provoked. a muppet respects a good fight and will often tell you so even if you kill them.

however if you attack a muppet with insults or slander expect no mercy as they are relentless and typically have no boundaries in the manner in which they will answer your insult. the inevitable backlash and animosity on both sides is pretty predictable and in this respect muppets are indeed egomaniacs.

thats the side of muppets people that hate muppets love to go on and on about.

the side that you don't hear about is if you ask one of them for tips or advice on how to fly a certain maneuver or want a friendly duel for practice or for competition such things are graciously given without fail.

how you treat them is how they treat you.

make yourself an enemy and you will be one.

if your an honorable opponent or just pleasant regardless of skill level you will never see a muppet give you anything more than a good fight in the air.

e·gos
1. The self, especially as distinct from the world and other selves.
2. In psychoanalysis, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality.
3.
a. An exaggerated sense of self-importance; conceit.
b. Appropriate pride in oneself; self-esteem.

Now that I've explained the context in with I used the word "ego", are you going to tell me they don't fit this profile? Should I start grabbing Muppet quotes from this very thread? What I said before isn't a bad thing necessarily......hell, we all have egos whether you want to admit it or not. It's how you handle that ego is what's important. That was my point. You guys don't seem to be jealous of each other but seem to feed off one another. That's where the rarity lays.  :old:

Okay now I am feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Please back on topic.

I prefer the term mudhen. The reason is simple, but might take a little explaining. The mudhen is another name for the F-15 Strike Eagle. F-15 pilots think of themselves as the top dogs. In AH, your 'BTs" drop bombs on GVs to get their names in light. In a lot of ways, that's just the attitude of an F-15 jockey. Coots, are another name for Mud Hen. Coots lay their eggs in muddy, leafy nests surrounded by water. BT's is just another clever form of being insulting, but it's also ignorant in so many ways.

TW9... The last line of the full quote in a thread i didn't even comment on is what got me interested in who "Chalenge" really was.

If you have gotten so inside someones head that they are insulting you in random threads you haven't even participated in something is going on with them that has some backstory.

That was my opinion when I started wondering who he was after arguing with him last week about his stick figure. I was amazed at how he believed he was the future of AH and would through his being ripped off by full sail usher ah3 into existence.

:devil

If he didn't know he had crossed the line, I doubt he would have edited it as fast as he did.  Just because you didn't read him say it was out of line doesn't mean it wasn't written.

SD came into that thread with an obvious axe to grind.  When his axe broke off in his hand he ran to argument ack by tossing up the "my wife passed away" thing without anyone asking as much.  If you're not anti-Fester you can see it plain as day.  If you are anti-Fester than you'll read exactly what you want to read... mean ol' Fester saying nasty things about a man's dead wife.

no you have to get into the right mindset.

I'm going to post somthing then edit it about a minute later but you need to quote it before I do.

now wait a few months and repeatedly post the same quote or reference to it then get pissed off when I post a rebutal quote more than once that explains the logic behind why you are posting what you posted in the first place.

No presumptions.  My use of italics and the word "you" was meant to imply that I read it, but you did not.

pre·sume  (pr-zm)

v. pre·sumed, pre·sum·ing, pre·sumes
v.tr.

1. To take for granted as being true in the absence of proof to the contrary.
2. To constitute reasonable evidence for assuming; appear to prove.
3. To venture without authority or permission; dare.

v.intr.

1. To act overconfidently; take liberties.
2. To take unwarranted advantage of something; go beyond the proper limits: Don't presume on their hospitality.
3. To take for granted that something is true or factual; suppose: That's the new assistant, I presume.

pre·sump·tion  (pr-zmpshn)

n.
1. Behavior or attitude that is boldly arrogant or offensive; effrontery.
2. The act of presuming or accepting as true.
3. Acceptance or belief based on reasonable evidence; assumption or supposition.
4. A condition or basis for accepting or presuming.
5. Law A conclusion derived from a particular set of facts based on law, rather than probable reasoning.

When I suggested you not presume it was inferring that I read what you're presuming I didn't and it doesn't change my opinion to match yours.

Just a lot of people with their own agendas. This thread was meant to alert the community to a scam artist rearing his ugly head again and already planting his seed of deceit. It's a serious subject not just for the flight sim community but the gaming community as a whole. He's been back, has scammed before and will again if he hasn't already.

Those guys that got scammed were idiots. If someone comes up to me telling me he's a CIA F16 P51 owning fighter pilot game developer..... and needs MY money, I'll laugh in his face and tell him to sell the 51. End of discussion. Those "investors" were dumber then a bag of diks and got what they deserved for believing that James Bond crap.

But really think about this for a second. A man claiming to be ex CIA......that should throw up a red flag right there. First of all CIA boys don't go around telling people they're CIA....duh! 2nd of all the CIA is a group of lying, war starting assassin spies. How stupid do you have to be to believe anything a spy has to say. THEY TELL LIES FOR A LIVING...HELLO

Thirdly, does anyone know how much money a CIA employee makes? It damned sure ain't enough to buy your own vintage WW2 fighter plane!  :bhead If they made that kind of money they wouldn't be selling secrets to Russia and China for extra cash!  :bhead

But no, these retarded game investors ate that F16, scorpion bite, brain cancer crap up and loved the idea of being such good buddies with a double ott spy. They couldn't wait to break out the checkbook.  :lol Sound to me like some computer geeks got punked. They could take it up with Johnny Law but they know damn good and well what FiveO is going to say. ........FiveO: "LMFAO and you believed that story?" Then they'll all meet at the donut shop to laugh some more about the video game nerds that got taken to the cleaners by Bond.....James Bond.  :rofl

If Chalenge did put that off then he has indeed proved that he is as smart as he thinks he is . Now what

*ahem*...eh, it strikes me that the easiest way to get enough money for a vintage plane would be to sell secrets or whathaveyou...unless you're really stupid and spend all your money trying to live the 007 lifestyle.

Voss and his TAS scam was always small potato's and was a straight up scam from the start or very close to the start. It is interesting to wonder if at the start he believed he could just make a sim with no experience and believed his own nonsense and then reality hit and he went into fantasy mode vaporware imagination tookover with all the programming done in fantasyland.

we will never know since Voss can't even admit his identity without shading up immediately after admitting who he is. moreover he can't admit he made a mistake or accept responsibility for it. even if he ever gave his own insight into it his credibility is so shot no one would believe anything he said anyway.

he wants everyone to know it is him with subtle hints about his true identity but is to much of a coward to actually use his voss name.

with this newest Voss sighting coming in with pride about his giving all his money to full sail and not even realizing he got scammed..

It seems he has lost his scammer senses or possibly is hoping that he can get anything of his used by HTC and then as someone mentioned start a lawsuit or...

maybe he wants to actually for the first time in his life make some small part of a combat sim that gets used by actual players that are not part of his imagination. no one could say for sure but him and no one would believe anything he says anyway.

OK, I'll bite....  You are showing your immaturity with this post...  you are not beyond making a big mistake, even with your ignorant attitude towards me, I still hope you don't have to learn this the hard way... I am an addict, have always been an addict, and will always be an addict... there are many, many, many addicts that play AH... some will never "mess up big", some will... it doesn't even have to involve drugs, it can be marriages and relationships with loved ones and the likes... I hope none have to learn the way I did.... your attitude is leaving you ripe for a hard life lesson, again, I hope you don't have to learn it the hard way.  I would like to just call you a sweetheart and be done with it, but I think you're in a serious vulnerable state and calling you out for what you are wouldn't help you at all... good luck!

I thought the same thing at your age but now as an NCO in the army...I know most 18-20 year olds can't even make their own bed in the morning.

Most people that live in the US haven't seen the real world.....they just complain about cell reception and act like tough guys on the internet.

Easy there ACE....you have bitten off more than you can chew with that one.  24 years old, shots fired at him in anger in to theaters of war makes him a lot older than 24.  War years and dog years are =.

I kinda have to agree with Changeup on this one. I know alot of you would still consider me young being 26. But having been in the Helmand Province in Afghanistan and being shot at (and shot), blown up, etc. has made me feel a hell of a lot older. Getting out of bed in the morning groaning b/c of back pains and such lol. If it gets worse as I get older dear lord help me lol. And in the military there is a very large gap of maturity between the guys that are 24+ that have been in a while and the fresh new guys that are 18-20. Just my two cents, and I know alot of you that are probably older than me will say that I am too young to have an opinion but figured I would throw it in anyway.

BTW, I also served my country, Honorably in the USAF.

I am 22. Will not join the service if I do not have to. My whole father's side of my family have been in every war besides the war currently in the middle east. I would have been next in line for that war. Respect the hell out of you service men and women!

I just graduated college in May with a business management degree. To be quite honest I still don't really know when I am suppose to use a comma. Stupid grammar  :bhead I can do the hell out of linear equation models though. I now have a little office job that is decent, but I plan on starting my own company. If I could do that before I was 25 at such a "young" age I would feel pretty badass. I have always had the entrepreneur spirit.

I am glad all you old farts are saying this stuff because it still makes me feel young. A lot of people my age are so panicky and think the world is going to fall to toejam next week. They are going crazy trying to find jobs, get through school, and find understandings of life. In this case it causes us to rush life and do everything as fast as we can.

I started playing this game when I was 13, my uncle showed it to me. Played some Combat flight simulator and MFS and thought I was gonna be the bees knees at this game.. boy was I wrong. I didn't even know how to type on radio for the first 2 weeks. H2H really gave me a chance to learn this game and meet some great sticks. I joined the muppets about 2006 when SkyRock let me in. It was a pretty big accomplishment for me getting join one of the best fighter squads in the game.

I've been gone from this game for about 4 years now and quite frankly nothing as really changed accept a couple of plane cockpits and new planes (which is great!!!) This game will always be an "escape from reality" for me because I always thought it would be so cool to be a fighter pilot in WW2. I guess you could say I will probably play this game for a long long time. To me, this game is like having a relationship where you argue all the time and get pissed at each other constantly but for some reason you keep going back to them.

I think the community is great and I enjoy the fact that we can all talk crap to each other. That makes it a lot more fun, challenging, and causes people to work harder to become better. I am really not the crap talker basher dweeb that you all think I am, I just think it is fun, and yes generally I can back it up... That's what I love about the muppets. We pretty much are exactly what fester said earlier. And it is great to be flying with a great group of fellas and ladies who take this game with pride. We sure do tear it up in the MA so you better be watching out, especially since a lot of us are going to be on now.

If one day you get to the stage of doing that and ever want to talk about it, feel free to shoot me a PM.  I've been an entrepreneur since grad school (which was way back when) and have been involved in the founding of five companies -- some successful (and so was involved in running and growing them as well), and some not (which is also a learning experience).

I started rental property a few years ago (at 25). Right now I have 6 houses, 5 trailers and 40 apartments under my guns. Find what you WANT to do and stick to it, learn everything you can because what I learned from my dad, helped me float alive.
I have only three mortgages on my properties, rest have been paid off and I am only 31 now. I have plans to add a few more apartments to my credit, but right now I am fighting my wife's cancer bills and that just murdered whatever income I have.

My dad never got a chance to show me the ins and outs of the business, but watching him for 18 years - I learned enough to get on my feet. You need hard work and dedication, honestly I haven't been doing this for the past few weeks - caught up with my wifes treatments I let things slide, its almost a business killer to let things slide like that. If I can get through it, you can easily.

Entrepreneur is a great way to get rich or die trying, I did rental property because its a steady paycheck - I won't get rich but I know I won't be homeless either.

I never used to get along with Junky when he first started to play this game, it was my problem not his, he was just acting his age and I wanted him to act mine. That made it my loss not his, we can all look down at the younger set and tell them they did this and that wrong but how did we feel about people who did that when we were that age.
It's not a matter of if you serve or have served your country either, I served and now have two sons and a grandson serving, it's more important that you live your own life work hard and give respect were it is due. Some people just get lucky and life hands them everything they need others work hard and still struggle,  we are all different.
Yes we can make fun of the younger ones and they can make fun of us older guys,  but keep it fun, life is too short to get annoyed over a game.
I know I quoted Junky in this reply but my thanks and apologies are not only directed at him but any other guys here that due to my own stupidity I have either disrespected or caused upset to.

<----------throws meat in the tiger cage  :bolt:

John,

I don't recall corresponding with you on any of this. However, it is
obvious that you align yourself against me. Saddle up and come hunt me. I'll
enjoy eating your heart while I ping the crud out of your defenders.

Desert Storm? You are referring to comments made to boaster an online
persona (and they were made by my partner). Yeah, I eat babies too. Come get
some. When Falcon 3 (egad I'll regret saying that) was big, I trashed a lot
of so called A.F. maggots. So what, a lot of 13yr. old dweebs can say the
same. Check the posts on the BBS. I NEVER posted anything about a military
career. Sure, there were things said elsewhere. So what? It only helped to
boaster the fear online. Get over it. You act like an inbred on a witch
hunt. Are you really stuck on yourself that bad?

This thread went so far (in posts over a year ago) to suggest that I had
made comments about SR 71's and all manner of nonsense (T-38, etc.). Man,
the hemp must be flowing out there somewhere! LOL! At the time I thought
this was attributable to the numerous people using the name Voss. Anymore, I
think it was a collective of people just like you, sipping your drinks and
escalating the hatred. You must have no life.

Peoples suggestions? I think you need to back the wagon up and regroup.
TAS was my intellectual property from the very beginning. I didn't see you
take any part in it, until the hate mongers latched on. So, your alignment
and feeling on this issue are well known. It isn't going to stop me from
making legitimate efforts in this area, so save your breath. I was asked how
I was handling certain details in TAS. I answered. Now I see my ideas
showing up in games. Hmm... wonder where the leak was? As I said, forgotten.
TAS is dead. Actually, it was finished over a year ago. Hobutt's lawyer
forbid its release. So, I'll have to raise money along another venue in
order to battle it out with him. I'll win.

You see, I never released anyone from the NDA. But, forgotten. As long as
he doesn't rear his ugly head, no problem.

My current partner is well of aware of, and in fact took part in, the TAS
debacle (as an unwilling participant). Stiff who? My last partner bailed
when I became ill. He never supported the project enough to see it to the
end. I require $35,000/yr just to survive. To survive and maintain an edge
on technology requires much more. Ask any software company out there if they
could produce on $11,000. Nope? Didn't think so. I spent $11,000 in software
easy. I bought eight computers, because the local University does not allow
their equipment to be used for commercial efforts. I paid for it, not my
partner. Our agreement was that he was the financier, not me. So this
arguement goes no where.

Would you saddle up with a drunkard who nightly spits vile and hatred to
potential customers? Obviously you would, since it suits your personality.
He needed to go. Good riddance.

As to the scorpion thing. If you think that wasn't real, I feel sorry for
you. I heard that a lot of people suggested that scorpions are not even in
Arkansas. Wrong. Check it out braniac. Yes, cancer patients undergo strains
upon their immune systems. All it took was a single stinger, from a scorpion
long dead, to nearly kill me. It didn't kill me, and I doubt your hatred
will penetrate deeply either.

  Nope, zero penetration.

This only helps to provide evidence that you have tried to funnel every
event against me, rather then accept it as the natural flow of events. Man,
I bet you yell at cars in traffic too.

John Birkes is the brother of a very good friend of mine. Yep, real and
all. I asked him to use the company computer (yes the one Hobutt supplied)
to keep up on things and to keep me informed (as I was obviously not going
to be around for awhile). John and I had our differences. He's gone now.
Suffer. Even suggesting that I round up verification for you would be
childish John, and I would expect more of someone in your position. I'm not
asking for trust. I'm not asking for money. I asked for everyone to come by
and check on our progress. I suggest you refrain from further tirades, or
you might miss out on something you would really like to see. Well, it's
obvious you don't care to see me succeed. I'll rub it in when I do. <G>

I have heard a lot of crud about so many issues surrounding this. It is so
much crap. My main detractor even suggested that I don't exist at all! Man,
you two have got it bad (and I use the term 'Man' loosely)! Well, Loser
Detractor has talked to everyone in the area he could reach (not realizing
that the area is small and that everyone would inform me) and still he
doubts I am even real. Nah, this message is the result of a cleverly written
virus present on your system alone. (Dweeb).

Contrary to your snotty and single minded opinion, there are a lot of good
souls out there that do not suffer from your black heartedness. You have to
carry that burden, so keep it to yourself. Do it now. Further rants will
only make you look stupid.

I still have the trust of my wing, my wife and family, my partner, and
many more people that have corresponded with me throughout my illness. To
them I say thank you. Their thoughts and prayers will, in the end, see this
thing through. Without their support I may very well have perished. I won't
let them down.

Now, I'm too busy for this NG crud. You won't fnd my email address
attached, as I don't eat spam, I won't take the time to correspond with you,
and I don't need the three-hundred emails I was getting with TAS (daily).
You are not the only virtual pilot out there and really I don't care what
you think. When you die, and if I am as well (without having produced a
flight sim, game, or anything useful), you will have the last laugh.

Until then shut up and sit down, stupid.

I'm off to work. Once I'm back on WB look me up. Bring friends. You'll
need them.
