Think it will be awhile before we see this again ->

<S> To all tankers, I didn't do it alone, Aron saved my rear bringing me supplies when someone shot my engine out, Hooter for covering me, and the knight tankers at 89.

There is one, it's called Aces High. :devil

I wouldn't call circle jerking, er.. I mean spawn camping a worthy achievement. It is amazing what people think is "skill" or "fun" these days. If you would have done that up in TT, then perhaps.
To each his own, I guess.

Awsome dude

Sorry I am not going to bite into your attempt at Trolling, hop in a tank and enjoy a tank battle, FYI - Tank town is actually not harder then any other spawn, the key is winning against odds - and if you can land while being bombed every 10 minutes then its called "luck" rather then skill.
Anyone can tank, key is to stay alive long enough.

This.
and if you can land while being bombed every 10 minutes then its called "luck" rather then skill.
And that.
You got lucky in the fact that no plane decided to target you.
Rarely do you ever find a good tank battle, only on certain maps between certain fields. But once the amount of players involved goes over 15 or 20, regardless, it turns into a fight to see who can set up camp.

I was extremely lucky the few bombs that came close didn't hit me, I already spent 180 perks on tanks at this base up to this point, whether it was bombs or overwhelming numbers we just didn't have enough to hold it.
And you are exactly right - the fight went above 30 easily on the ground for each side, we also had to split to defend 2 spawns.
I haven't had a tank battle like today in a very long time, regardless how many times I was bombed today I finally got rewarded for my hard efforts.

TT offers a battle field where wide open terrain is plentiful and sparse trees offer scant cover. TT offers multiple spawn points where campers do not have the advantage but perhaps on the first kill. TT offers long distances where the defender (camper) doesn't have a distinct advantage of using a perked tank to camp them retreat to land his "victories". TT offers much more in terms of an engagement and far less of a circle jerk... er... I'm sorry, I meant spawn camp arcade shoot where the challenge is absolutely at minimum. It is sad that more people dont communicate on 200 and say "meet me in TT", because Trinity has the best TT set up in Aces High.
Funny how you call me a troll, but yet you post that kind of "look at my camper score" and expect all "three cheers for vDallas!!!". Sorry, no "hip-hip-hurray" from me. I have plenty of enjoyment in gv engagements, the camping I will leave to you and your likes.
EDIT: "SWranger" sure does look like someone's shadow account. :aok
-
...
That would be right...
Today me and BirdDog were tryin to have fun in the TT. We annouced it on every possible channel, noone came to join. Why? Couse there was a gv "fite" goin on, the same one Butcher got his kills in.
Our fight soon died out, it took a lot of time to find each other.
I agree Trinity has a real well-designed TT, but its all useless if the people choose the camping insted of flanking/moving/shoot n scooting.
There are a lot of "kamboocha mushroom people" nowadays.
-
So Butcher. You are saying you weren't spawn camping?
-
But once the amount of players involved goes over 15 or 20, regardless, it turns into a fight to see who can set up camp.
The mechanics of GV spawns within Aces High means that any prolonged fight will become a camping situation. I'm not defending the current situation, it's just a product of how the game works on many levels.
Think about this, how often do you see a prolonged furball (with 15 to 20 players) over open territory between bases? As soon as one side starts to lose parity in the fight, the furball will always shift towards one of the weaker sides bases. This is because of a few factors like;
- weak side player needs to extend and gain some alt before coming back to the fight
- weak side player running from a fight he can't win
- weak side player running from a fight towards help coming from a friendly base
- winning side chasing kills
WARNING: Deep Philosophical Thoughts Ahead
So it's not just GV's that see a shift where the fight is happening but a progression of how fights develop in Aces High. If you watch some of the really good sticks fighting in furballs, you'll see that some of them are conscious of these traits. And they will hold their position when they are winning a fight just to allow the bad guys to come out to them. But most average pilots will chase the few targets left when they are winning just to get the kill.
Or you can think of it like this;
WARNING: Shallow Generalization Ahead
Getting killed in a GV at a spawn that's camped, is the same as getting vulched on the runway.
It all depends on the mood you're in. ;)
-
Totally agree with you Baumer.
In this king of GV fight, I'm always the poor schmuck that instead of quietly waiting for the prey to fall into the trap, will rather go WTH is going on and roll out gunblazing. That's about right before I get killed usually. That's also why I dont bother GV'ing anymore.
-
This is the reason why AC like the P-47 gose into action by bombing GVs.
-
EDIT: "SWranger" sure does look like someone's shadow account. :aok
I really would hate to see his response to your accusation.

Withdraw your baseless accusation.

I agree 100%, How many times have a good furball started - only to have someone bomb**** the hangers and ruin the fight when neither side has an advantage? How about certain squads who fly in and bomb all the hangers before anyone can defend? Or certain people who bomb vehicle hangers in a GV fight in which nobody has an advantage what so ever? Its the strategy that has been around lately, the ones who bombed me today certainly didn't complain about it, and I certainly didn't either, as they wasted an Egg on me and not the vehicle hanger.
I admit 35% of those kills were camped no question asked, however I beg to question - if both sides have no advantage in the fight - and one side loses numbers in which they simply get overran - is it fair to scream "camper! or vulcher".
Its an all to common scenario, one side loses an advantage, and the fight can be shifted quite easily by shutting down a base or etc.
However I will stand and say its been one of the best fights I've seen in a very long time, and quite happy to lose more perks then I gained today.

I'm pretty sure Butcher has a shade but it definitely is not SWranger...

SWranger has been around quite a long time if it's the guy I'm thinking of.

and the PM's roll in.... :lol
Sorry folks... SWranger was Butcher's largest recipient of cornhole shots. I didn't word that statement correctly, I didnt mean for it to sound like Butcher's shade account but rather his stats show that Butcher is the largest and most prominent donor in his "been killed by" column.

Yeah you've been around long enough to know how the shades get caught. I'm sure you only use yours to spy, ya know intercept bomber formations, goons, 110 missions etc..
But I have no proof so I'm just stirring the pot.

it doesn't take a genius to read a map, dar bars / flashing etc.
I can smell a Bish goon from 2 grids away with nothing but a pencil and compass.

If someone wants to shell out $30 for a video game that cost $15 just to watch a map all day, so be it - they are funding the new toys the rest of us are getting in game while their skill level still sucks since they can only kill shades.

To each his own but sometimes "gameyness" can lose players. :D

Me and Waystin get that same feeling, more of a dead hamster in a gym sock smell, sometimes it's just real obvious where the goons are coming from.
-
wtg butcher and projoee good stuff. 100 plus kills apiece is amazing no matter the circumstances nice! :salute

True Spartan Warrior dedication to the cause and you call him a shade. Not everyone sees things as futile and gives up.

TnDepp...I was alittle shy of them too after all the changes....but I got dragged into doin more tankin with Butcher and Hooter as squadies....lil bit of time and you will start to love the tankin part of the game again!

I admit with the squadies we have its one reason we are successful at tanking, you won't see just one of us, its all or none.
Lets be honest though, you just like hiding behind Hooter and snipe his kills :D

I've been watching Butcher's squad out of pure boredom of gameplay this past month. They seem to get together with the same mindset of reading the spawns. Setting up or possibly working for the advantage. Running supplies, scouting, spotting, and using the buddy system on bathroom breaks. Kudos to the experten camper always prepared. As for the look at me I'm uber from a 10yr player Really! <cookie pic>

#1funny thing about that fight, i was there for most of it and as there were a few guys who bombed gvs none came often.
#2 if your dumb enough to up from a camped spawn that has a 2nd spawn into the vary same field then you are asking to die. (they were spawning into our runway and had 2 spawns to choose from but vary few used the 2nd spawn point)
#3 later after our 2 guys landed there 100+ kills, no less than 7 sets of B17's at 14,000ft with several escorts (including a 262 or more) bombed every hanger on the SMALL field and the town, then launched a massive M3 run for the next 20min. we almost lost the field, but didnt.
imo it was a good job tankng, whith the 5second delay that we have of GV's spawning in, some tanks can get almost 2 shots off befor you are allowed to see them from your view. in retrospect if somone got 100 air to air kills you wouldnt ask or inquire "how many were joblow vs how many were Bruv" nor would you ask "how many were vulches from a deacked field with the VH down and no werbles out"
Furthermore The guy was sitting in the same spot in a tank for clearly a good amount of time. the fact he didnt get killed by bomb is amazing, and anyone who thinks its easy to do please post it to show us.
I say job well done! :aok and in another month or so it will be harder for you cuz ill be on the other side and i always carry a bomb with rockets :devil

I'd love to see the Film 32. I'm sure you saved it. Trying to think what Fools would keep upping at a camped spawn that was far from available Air Support that would have to fly a few sectors over mountains. :headscratch:

I glanced at the stats, but most of the kills belonged to SWranger, midway (they have him 70 kills between those 2), and a a few others filled in the blanks.
Remember, it wasn't like he was to their front. It wasn't like he was exposed. He wasn't like he didn't have the 2nd best tank gun in the game (Firefly and Panther are almost identical and only 2nd to the King Tiger, but w/ a 4 second faster reload). His targets were the mostly the softest tank in the game (Panzer IV).
I challenge him or any other circle jerker, er... I mean spawn camper to start camping with something that creates a challenge, just like I challenge the picktards to take something other than the fastest of the fast. What fun can it be to have it handed to you in a crutch plane/tank with all the advantages? I'd rather work my arse off in an ENY 20 aircraft or a lesser tank and lose by an inch than to land Y number of kills in a crutch plane or tank.
Doing what he did takes luck. Meaning, not to get bomb****ed, to be in the right camp site, at the right range, in the right tank (armor protection), have people willing to deliver supplies, and most importantly to have people dumb enough to keep uppin'. Sure, the aim still needs to be true, but how hard is to dial in a tank sight and know that the largest spread front to back is no more than 700 yards?
Engagements are where it is at (meet in the middle, aka Trinity Tank Town). That is where the fun is. That is where the "skills" of a tanker or squad shine. Circle jerking, er.... spawn camping is just a sad event for all involved.
-
That's a whole lot of tanking for not having driven more than 2 miles or actually took the battle to the enemy.
-
Damn shoulda brought my 234 to that fight. Wtg tank weenies :rock
As far as calling SWranger a shade. Thats just retarded. He has the same "never give up attitude" a lot of people have.
Some people enjoy a challenge . Breaking any "camp" is a matter of patience and persistence.

Then both of you need to get new reading glasses. Mr. Dragon didnt post the other comment I made about SWranger after the fact. Try again, Dragon. Mop up your mess.

Think it will be awhile before we see this again ->
Belail landed 100+ kills not 4 months ago. Tankies have been landing 30-80's all week. As for someone else's comment of landing 50 kills in tank is just as hard as 50 kills in a plane lol please. Opps, I'm in danger of a look at me post. :devil

Obviously not. You didnt read my addendum to that post. What was trying to be conveyed was that SWranger, with about half of butsher's 100 kills, could appear to be someone's shade/shadow/fake account to pad scores. Please go read the post following and get off the band wagon.

It can seem like like "shades" to some people, especially in ground vehicles where spawn battles go back and forth and people do rack up kills, especially against each other, however looking at the typical "Heavy tankers" the kill list is almost the same mainly because some are dedicated tankers.
In a plane however, it would certainly be a shade if you seen someone shot down a dozen times by one person, beyond a dozen or two then it would be a shade, however if you look at the top tankers, not far off if you count the sorties and time in a GV.
-
LOL I guess my 22 kills of the same guy could constitute a "SHADE" too??
