I'm trying to trace the front end (www.hitechcreations.com) and everything stops at the SFCal router to Texas. I've timed out all day on the address (www.hitechcreations.com). At least (bbs.hitechcreations.com) is obviously available.
-
It's not down for me.
-
No problems here.
-
This is what I get:

At least I can get here:

And here:

Seems to be broken in Telia's network.
By the way bustr, that 206 IP address is not ours anymore. The 100% packet loss at hop #8, in your Ping Plot, is normal. That simply means that particular router is not honoring the "ICMP ECHO" packet. Some ISP's do that for some routers.
-
Maybe unrelated, but I noticed last night my client was connecting to the MAs through the alternate address/means. Unusual but not a problem.
-
The HTC web site is down for me too. I thought the forum was down as well but then I did a google and found the forum address

I am getting this now but the link does not work either.

What URL are you using? You only get that message if you are trying to use a URL which is no longer valid.

Try running a Ping Plot to www.hitechcreations.com and see if there is a problem between you and the WEB page server.

I can't get that message again so not sure what url I was trying but I tried several different things to try to get to http://www.hitechcreations.com/
Still can not get to HTC's home page. I checked with a squad mate and he has no trouble. Odd for sure. Tried a different browser and still no joy.

Run a Ping Plot to www.hitechcreations.com
The site is not down. It sounds like it simply something wrong on the Internet between you and the site.
-
The home page won't load for me either.
-
Run a Ping Plot to www.hitechcreations.com
I found a software package called Ping Plotter. Will run it afternoon.

I can ping 71.252.137.149 but can't connect to the home page.

okay so I did that ping plot and this is what I got
(http://pingplottoAH.png)
oh well damn it I can never get pics to work right
I can get from 192.168.2.1.
to 172.30.3.153
to 172.30.3.209 then it says after 4 jumps or whatever at number 5 it says "destination Address Unreachable
Idk what all that means I'm just 16 have a very limited understanding of how computers work
-
Folks, I need to see traces or Ping Plots. No one here is having trouble getting to the WEB page from home or work. Makes it difficult to do anything when I cannot see what the problem is.
-
Folks, I need to see traces or Ping Plots. . . .

Bustr, your problem seems to be with SBC. It is dropping out long before it leaves their network.
Randy1, your problem is within the Bellsouth network.
It appears anyone who has an AT&T (Bellsouth, SBC...) connection is not able to get to the WEB page. Could be a bad route propagation. Either that or they are blocking The Planet/SoftLayer, which I seriously doubt.
Could be bad route information from SoftLayer.
We are going to let Softlayer know, but it appears to be outside their control.
-
Ok, let's try a test.
Those of you who cannot reach the AHWiki or our WEB page (www.hitechcreations.com). Can you get the downloads? Here is a test link: http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/testdl.txt
If you cannot get to the WEB page, but can get to the download file, I need to know it.
Thank you.

Think of it almost like triangulation with radio signals, the more tracerts/pingplots the broader the picture gets and more precisely the source/problem found.

Randy, you a Los Angeles area time warner customer? (first half of your IP is identical to mine).
East coast, we are about as far apart as it gets. ;)
-
It is not a regional problem. It is AT&T and those ISP's that use AT&T as their transport (Mediacom, for example) that is the problem. You need to complain to your ISP about this.
Here is one more test. There is no WEB page at this IP address, but it is an active server and it is in the same Class C our WEB server is in.
Ping 70.85.193.17
I am will to bet, those of you who cannot reach our WEB and Wiki pages (70.85.193.18) can ping the above address.
-
That pinged worked. Have spent two hours on the phone with bellsouth. This is not going well.
-
Just FYI Skuzzy. I am having the same problems described here from my AT&T phone. Maybe you can duplicate the problem that way..

That pinged worked. Have spent two hours on the phone with bellsouth. This is not going well.
I have now, after 3 hours on the phone with the enemy, been escalated for the third time in their words to the next higher group. My computer has been raped by them. After the first tow hours I was escalated to a group that wanted to start over again. I said no we are not doing that again. Then they tried it. Internet call by the way from some where. They said at last we think we have a problem but I must wait for the next group to call. This sucks big time.
-
Just FYI Skuzzy. I am having the same problems described here from my AT&T phone. Maybe you can duplicate the problem that way..
:salute
This may have saved the day. I told the last bellsouth tech support that it was not working on the phones as well. That got their attention.
-
It is not a regional problem. It is AT&T and those ISP's that use AT&T as their transport (Mediacom, for example) that is the problem. You need to complain to your ISP about this.
Is AT&T having a router problem, or are they blocking access to the web pages? As an I.T. person, I am more than a little curious.
BTY, I'm in California, on Cox.

The game still runs fine and so does the forum but the home HTC web page is down to At&T customers both through modems and cell phones

Is the AH front page being blocked by ATT for violent content by mistake or due to a customer complaint against the content?
This is where ATT blocks the AH front page address out of california: dist1-vlan62.snfcca.sbcglobal.net [206.13.3.129]

Skuzzy, HTC has no way of dealing with this?

Skuzzy, HTC has no way of dealing with this?
No because they have no control over the route your computer takes to get to their servers. It's like you driving from New York city to LA. Your asking LA to fix the all the bridges that are out between New York and LA.
The best they can do is put in a ticket (I think Skuzzy said earlier in the thread that he had) and then it is up to AT&T to find and fix the issue.
If YOU want to fix it yourself, I think there is a way to make a proxy setup where you can reroute your path away from the AT&T network. I'm not a hacker so I'm not real sure about it though.

I didn't know the Fugitive and Skuzzy were the same person. How about that!

At this point I don't have very much confidence in at&t doing anything. They were suppose to call back in 24 hours. That was Saturday. Will give it today.
If you have at&t call and complain. They said I was the only one reporting the problem.
-
We need every AT&T customer, to call and complain. It does appear to be an AT&T issue.
-
ATT says the site was blocked for a fraud complaint. The number everyone needs to call is 1 888 932 4678. Tell them www.hitechcreations.com was blocked because of a false complaint.

As we all now HTC is not a fraudulent company. It sounds like this is an HTC issue now. I would think they have to get the block lifted since someone has filed a fraud complaint against them. I did try a call on that number and that is a number for at&t's web services providing domain names and such.
-
Randy that's the number for the division of ATT that can unblock the HTC home page. It doesn't hurt our cause for them to receive more than 1 complaint. You need to select support and ask for a live person.
-
We are not an AT&T customer so they will not listen to us. They may respond to enough complaints from their own customers.
-
Skuzzy,
Until this gets cleared up. Please make available alternate URL for downloads of skins and game related material as Links in the Forum. Also the WEB Help link from the Clip Board is being blocked.
-
Ok we found the correct people to talk to at at&t.
The issue should be resolved shortly.
