I gotta say, between 2008 and 2015 when I racked up huge hours of game time, I have never seen this guy fly.
One in my position would easily come to the conclusion that the delusional and unstable fantasist Animl had got another account under his control? :neener:
Morpheus was in a very bad accident and was away from AH for many years.
- oldman
I flew with Morpheus (he was flying under a different name) in the early 2000's with the 444th Air Mafia. He's been around for a while. As Oldman said he has been away from AH for some time.

Neither have anywhere near the strategic depth AH has, not by a long shot. :)WWII Online has a lot more depth, I have played AH for over 10 years and WWII Online for the past year or two on and off. I still love this game but

I am not going attack this game like some people do I wanted to have my say in here
I never played any of these other games so my objectiveness is a bit skewed. Was just reading the WWII 2023 roadmap and it seems at least like they are committed to keep building. Did they achieve it now that’s 2023 is almost over.I haven't looked at the roadmap much but they have added a lot of things that were needed like voice comms and upgrading the 3D models of some old assets and stuff like and they are trying to port it to a new game engine they say they can do its just the fact of how long it takes them. I love the premise of WWII Online but Aces High is still better in a few ways just not much on the strategic side of things in my opinion

I've played WWII Online and still have a subscription (I like the infantry, ship, and armor aspects). For flying aircraft, though, I greatly prefer Aces High. They are very different games.
WWIIOL is half-scale Europe as the map, early-war. It is intended to encompass all forms of WWII activity -- infantry, vehicles, mobile guns, trucks, tanks, artillery, ships, and aircraft -- and geared toward the whole war effort, including working on supply of bases and building rank by succeeding in missions.
You don't get to fly what you want. At first, you don't even get to fly bombers or any of the better fighters until you succeed in enough missions in the lower-end couple of fighters (Hurri I and Curtis Hawk on the allied side). You might not even be able to fly anything if there aren't any missions posted with aircraft available or if all the aircraft have been used up.
If you do fly, in my experience, it is pretty sparse fighting, typically at altitudes even lower than in Aces High. They have nice clouds and landscapes. The flight model is decent.
The bad points for me are as follows. First, visibility just blows in WWIIOL. With clouds, haze (even the little that is there on clear days), inability to see your 6 position, inability to move your head location, the way they do identity of enemy aircraft (range at which you can ID and the way you lose ID and marking on the aircraft if you chance views even if in order to keep the enemy in view), I have a very, very hard time keeping things in view even in close-in fighting. I hated that aspect. Second, when you start out, you can't fly anything but the slowest fighters (Hurri and Hawk). Since it's impossible to see behind you, being the slowest guy out there is a huge handicap. You can't even fly bombers until you go up in rank. So, your early flight experiences are a lot of just trying to see behind you and evading lots of attacks of faster aircraft running you down. Third, there aren't a lot of planes around. I think the biggest fight I got in involved about 5 friendlies and 5 enemies. That happend once in about 20-40 hours of on-line flying for me. The rest of the time was 1-2, 2-1, 1-1 action.
Now before the WWIIOL people jump on me about the above, saying "But that's all more realistic," let me say that my dislike of it isn't that it's more realistic, it's that they pull of the realistic aspect poorly, making it less realistic. First, I don't mind bad visibility if that is realistic. But it's just not that hard to keep a plane in view in a close-in dogfight in reasonably clear weather in real aircraft in my experience. Their flaw is in the way the aircraft ID disappears if you view shift, even if it is to keep the plane in view and in that you can't move your head at all even to get some better glimpse behind you -- maybe not dead 6, but a little. If they want to be that realistic, then they should let you move your head, loosen your harness, have a rear-view mirror, or all of those things. Second, it sucks not getting to fly anything but the slowest fighters for a long time at the start -- not even any divebombers or level bombers or having rockets or anything that would make you useful in hitting stuff on the ground in a game that is (rightly) much more populated on the ground. Third, well, compared to the skies of Aces High, it's sort of boring in the WWIIOL skies. Yes, that is more realistic.
If you want more action and the ability to fly what you want, partipate in ground attack, base capture, etc., Aces High's main arena gives you that and WWIIOL doesn't. If you want lots of realism (and still exciting action), Aces High scenarios give you a much more realistic and involved environment than WWIIOL ever will.

Thanks for the info Brooke. A lifetime has happened since 2005. I wonder how the game has evolved based on your summary.
I don't know. But they don't have scenarios, as only Air Warrior has those. My flying is mainly in scenarios, and nothing else comes close for me.
You meant Aces High?
Show me anohter game such as this one that I've been playing for the past 20 years! (YIKES) dam I feel old saying that!
Show me another game that is similar to this one Aces High where I've made over the years some very good personal friends!... I'll start off with gettiing to know Mars01! This man showed me how it was to really fly an airplane and actually teaching me to fly his true to life Pitts where it became day after day of him beating me to hell and back in his Pitts and showing me what 4-5g's really feels like in real life... I haven't had any similar experience in any online game and gained real life friends to where I would even get stupid drunk at the coolest places like "Woods Pitt" and never leave this wing joint sober!
Mars, Slapshot, Icer, Badboy!!!
I can only thank you Dale for creating this Kindom that I played 100+ hours in a month tour and would do this tour after Tour!
Thanks!

So many great people.
To absent friends.
23 years. Blink of an eye. So many good people known on here and IRL. Lost many of them over the years to old age, cancer, and just…life. Some of the dearest friends one could have.
A few come to mind: Dukemskt, Betty, Colombo, Earl…
God Earl, he could tell a story whether about flying in the B-29 over Korea or buzzing his girlfriends and later wife’s house.
So many great people.

One of my biggest regrets in AH is never having flown in a bomber group mission led by Earl. I understand he added a LOT of authenticity to every aspect of the flights.

Oh, well if it's going to be like that...;)
(Not all flyable models. Some AI. Some flyable mods. Marianas map as stand in for Vietnam. I hope we get that map with the coming F-4)

I brought it up, not Trips. Who doesn't want to take a spin in an iconic mach 2.2 Phantom? Anyone interested in flying WWII warbirds is going to have at least some interest in the post war jets.

Too bad DCS is dripping with bugs everywhere. Never saw so many bugs posted on a sim game. Better yet everything cost money. Free play, while they empty your wallet. 50 max in MP, and ya get to kill exciting AI drones, that don’t work properly.
Cpt.Trips constantly complaining about bugs and pricing.
“…$100s invested…”
Constantly advertising DCS on AH bbs to preserve his massive investment.
And its allowed, one should wonder why. I’m starting to question this.
I’ll be visiting dcs forums again

Over 145,000 views in 18 hours for that Heatblur video. Clearly many are interested. I was in the USAF when those planes were darkening the skies with their long trails of black exhaust so plainly I'm biased.
Thanks for the invite to swiss cheese programming,... you guys are spending more time reporting bugs than flying against lamer AI.
You should go back there and stay there, because I'm bombing DCS all day. ENJOY!!! :)
Cpt.Trips found a new DCS Propaganda buddy to hijack threads with DCS.
Imagine a world where both games could exist… could you even imagine such craziness?.
You do the MOST DCS advertising no doubt. You’re a clown.
You can almost see the spittle foaming at the corners of his mouth. Like a fan-boi form of rabies.

Nope, i don't. We don't advertise on other game boards,.. until now. SOOOoo you think I'm alone in resenting that they advirtise here in every single thread they enter? You'd be wrong. AGAIN
I have mentioned aces high on the youtube videos of other ww2 sims..
Passion is getting the best of you - don't think it's helping your cause at this point
I have paid good money and enjoyed the majority of ww2 a2a sims out there ... starting with Warhawks 1942 on a 286
I have played AH 1000x more than all the others put together

Well he is certainly not doing this community any favors.
You are all being judged by his behavior. Not the ambassador you would want to win hearts and minds or convince anyone to give AH a try.
I used to think he was just a whack job. Now I feel there must be some kind of substance abuse. He is 100% tweaked out 100% of the time.
Animl, please get back on your prescribed meds and off the meth.
Well then I must be the most mentally stable one of them all. Do you all realize that I have eve played DCS nor do I ever plan to? Ask yourselves how I have been able to resist this constant advertising that is causing some AH exodus. Take all the time you need.
Imagine firing 5 20mm gun pods each at 6,000 rounds per minute all at once.
Typically it carried only one and that was primarily for air to ground. Theoretically it could carry 5 pods.
I'm sure it's convenient for Animl to blame all AH's troubles on me. But I didn't start playing DCS until late 2021. So I'm not sure what happened to the 600 players who used to be here and left before that.
Those are the kind of hard questions that people like Animl never bother to ask out loud, and will attack anyone who does.
The funny thing is he thinks I want him to come over to DCS. I don't even want him on my planet. Besides, I thought he had me on ignore. He just can't make that stick, can he? LOL.
No one says you have to play DCS. I don't play WT but I'm still willing to discuss their approaches and techniques and monetization models and which ones are effective and which ones are toxic. Just in terms of various sims and what they do. As a genre. As flight sims. As business models. He needs to realize not every discussion is an attack on his cult.
My issues with you are handed to you by others in another thread. There’s nothing innocent about you. Why ate you here? You’ve been asked this by others hers recently and many times.. Stop playing victim. Karma is on you. You use every opportunity, and I will simply do the same lets see if they tolerate me doing what you do.
Back in the day, I worked on things much more than flying. Its just what I liked to do. Today its the opposite. It’s an odd feeling to not be working on something. I’m on ignore, so I guess I’ll stay this way.
And the answer was explained in that thread and hasn't changed.
Most importantly of all, I don't take orders from you so the more you whine, the more I post to show you you have no authority over where I post or what I say.
Only this forum owner does and when I exceed the forum rules I get pinged. IF the forum owner wants to ban me, that is their choice. None of that involves you even though you seem to think you run things here.
I have never "advertised" for DCS here. When I mention DCS it is usually in the context of discussing several sims and their business model approaches. I usually mention WT and IL2 as well in those conversations. You can't discuss certain issues without referring to the major genre competitors.
In any case, it is not up to you who discusses what or what forums I post on. You are irrelevant.
The only "advertising" I have done for DCS is in the O'Club when I suggest people try airframes they can't get access to in AH, like the helo. Because helo are fun and I think other flightsim enthusiasts would find them fun as well and there is no overlap there with AH.
So in short, get the f over yourself. Frankly, I think you wear thin on everyone, not just me. Even you were threatening to stop doing things for AH because you felt everyone had you on ignore. They probably do.
Your constant demands for adulation are tiring to everyone.
And you have no say in what I do on DCS boards.
Hi Animl,
welcome to the forum, just a reminder to have a read of our forum rules, we do not allow discussion of other games here. Please keep it DCS related.
Best regards

I wonder why.
This is why scum like Trips should be banned.
Evidently we are being pushed to DCS, by more then Trips

Yup nothing to get worked up about. Sad that they don't have a community like we do here though. That is why they talk about it here.
The moment you aren't having fun and enjoying yourself, its time for some sort of break.
Fly die and have fun.
Seriously, it's a crying shame that Morpheus' thread gets hijacked with this eternal frikkin personal purse fight stupidity. It takes two. BOTH should take the crap private, and keep it out of everyone else's life.
Animl has lost privileges to my private inbox.

And why are you trying to stir up again what had already died down?
And yet you post this crap in a thread that has nothing to do with your purse fight.
So, are you enjoying stirring this up further?
By now one would hope you would realize that you are constantly in the center of drama in almost every thread. Have considered that your behavior is about how you and not others?
By now one would hope you would realize that you are constantly in the center of drama in almost every thread. Have considered that your behavior is about how you and not others?
This can go on as long as you want.
That's the point. The vast majority of people would prefer not to have it go on as it takes away from every discussion it shows up in. How you treat other people is about you not them. If you spend your life flinging poo at everyone you think is flinging poo you and everyone else gets covered in poo. I'm simply trying to do you a favor by pointing out that there is a reason why you attract poo flingers and that is because you choose to put yourself in that position. I'm suggesting a bit of introspect might lead you in a different and more productive path.
My point wasn't just about this thread. The same pattern happens over and over again which is why so many threads get locked. My point was that your behavior begets the same behavior in others. I'm sorry you and others feel the need to follow this path as it keeps this forum from being more than it is.
