My assumption is that we're looking at six "panels" for the cowling, right? So why not add some sheet styrene to one end of each panel to lengthen them, sand smooth, paint, and re-attach to the fuselage? Shouldn't be too hard to scribe some lines for the cooling flaps in the new styrene.
