You know you're a newbie when...

[list=1]
  • You get mad because the three friendlies in front of you aren't giving you a shot at the enemy plane in front of them.
  • You're flying an F6F and run out of ammo without hitting anything.
  • You believe the plane 5000 feet directly above you is too slow to catch you.
  • You believe the best way to defend a base is to wait until it is under attack then get a bunch of people to start spawning with you.
  • You've been with a group attacking a base for 2 hours and think the only real reason you haven't captured it is because there weren't enough of you.
  • You and 3 of your squadies can't manage to kill the ack at a field.

  • You believe the best way to get help when running from a con at 5k is to drag him over a lower friendly.

evading with an enemy on your six you see a friendly coming fast  2.5 away so you turn towards him.

you need an equal or better plane to win a 1:1 dogfight
you can't ride the stall without to the horn
you can't survive a furball without touching the trigger
deflection isn't second nature yet.

Ultimate newbie reflex:
invert barrel against a con well saddled just behind you.

Versus the ultimate newbie position of having a con well saddled just behind you? Heh.

it's the reflex that's typically newbie.
 I dunno where it's from, maybe watching the il2FB AI, but all it's worth everytime I see it used is wasted energy and making me impatient to get what isn't a fun fight anymore over with.

giving your six to cons is sometimes the only way to start an fun and dangerous fight.
