Maslo there were some riots on Aug 21 1969, put down by USSR troops.  Nice attempt at changing the subject though.  The fact is that Soviet occupation of Czech was quite a big success.  It was not until the USSR itself collapsed that the Czechs had the balls to fight again.

Well, if they have him six months and can't show anything in the WMD area, I'd be inclined to think they were wrong about it.

Unlike you, say, who has decided, based on your own private intel or personal opinion, that there never were any WMD, couldn't BE any WMD and made that decision over a year ago.

I guess I'm a "wait and see" kind of guy, given Saddam's history of actually using WMD.

Unlike you who just KNEW he's been innocent all along.

 :lol
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Aug 21 ?

there were no demonstration... at loeast not big one.... it was hard normalization... if you look bad on red star, you would end in a jail for next 50 years and all your family members as well

there was
21 Aug 1968 = Invasion of Czechoslovakia by the armies of five states of the Warsaw Pact

what exactly did you mean ... ??
i found only this
07 Aug 1964 = Outbreak of war in Viet Nam
05 Jan 1968 = Pro-reform Alexander Dubcek elected as Chief of Czechoslovak Communist Party
30 Mar 1968 = Gen. Ludvik Svoboda, president of Czechoslovakia
04 Apr 1968 = Martin Luther King murdered in Memphis
21 Aug 1968 = Invasion of Czechoslovakia by the armies of five states of the Warsaw Pact
30 Oct 1968 = Law on federative arrangement within Czechoslovakia
16 Jan 1969 = Self-immolation (as a political protest) of student Jan Palach in Prague
19 Jan 1969 = Student Jan Palach dies at Prague
?? Apr 1969 = G. Husak replaces A. Dubcek at the head of the Communist Party, after "Ice-hockey Events"
27 Jan 1973 = End of war in Viet Nam

Maslo, you could run a John Deere riding mower off your sense of self-satisfaction. What etopia do you hail from that allows you to see all the drawbacks of our tyrannical, narrow-minded society?

jezus on  Aug 21 1969 was celebration ("demonstration") because Czech did play Hockey agains Russia

at least it say czech version of that text
its was protest(celebration) coz  our hockey team won match with Russian team ... so people went out and destroyed few streets

point of this statement was to say " hey Russian its OK, we have it under control" and to remind people what did happenand could happen again) 21 Aug, 1968

So yup, you were right about riot...

well if we had balls or not ... chmmm ... if you will realize, that we made some economical reforms (w/o any anti russian demonstration) and they sent here Army to control situation, how exactly should 10 mil. of people fight agains them ?  :D ... some people did burn themself, to show protest and some went out to make some riot ... well T-55 explained them where to go

Czech resistence ended with "new" president, whitch has been chosen by Russian it was in 1968 or early 1969
