Yeah ... thought so. But, yaknow .... it didn't bother me enough to rush and correct you now, did it?

Tell me more about how everyone's ego but yours is fragile, scooter. ;)

Ah Arlo... I remember reading that post by Zazen....(tho I don't recall where)... BUT... the only posts I've read lately have dealt with ENY or conditions relating to the MA.  So I would suggest that Zaz indicating your flying time and only using the MA time wouldn't be a missrepresentation.

Did I miss something about the post or thread that it was in?

Something about since I didn't fly the MA much this week (and yeah, I don't fly there nearly as much as the CT) that I can't tell when a whine is a whine or somethin' like that. ;)

I THINK IT IS GREAT THAT NOW I MUST FACE ADVERSARIES OF EXTREME CALIBRE ON THE GROUND AS WELL AS IN THE AIR.

zazen is a great person to fight against and he is always polite, gentlemanly and honest.

three qualities that many pass by in aid of strength, speed and social hierachy.

to Zazen, even if he does kill me too much ;)

Thanks Batfink, I totally understood that about your original post. Be aware that these individuals taking pot-shots at me do so in each and every thread I am involved in and some I am not. They would argue with me if I said the Earth was round and the sun sets in the East. Urchin, AK-AK, Arlo, Dipstick et al. are part of the crowd that 'loves to hate' me for whatever reasons. Please don't take their off-topic criticisms of me and my particular method of enjoying the game as them misinterpreting your original post. I have no doubt, in fact, that just because your original post was a compliment to me that it got their lil' panties in a bunch, they hate that I am good at anything and get recognized for it publicy. (they'd much rather it was them getting the recognition ;))

You don't fly in the MA much at all, but still pretend to know all about the subtle nuances of it, kind of silly really. In fact, you haven't played in the MA more than 10 hours a month in the last 6 months except in May you played a total of 12 hours. Your average monthly play time is 6 hours, or just over 1 hour a week.

Funny that you get yourself heavily involved in the ENY debate, even going so far as saying it was your idea in the first place, but you barely even play in the MA at all.

*ShruG* It was .. what can I say? I bet you'd give your eye teeth to have one of your ideas taken seriously ... especially since you think you deserve it more by your hourly investment in the MA.

Speaking of which ... aren't we a tad bit fixated on my hours in the MA? Hehe

What's subtle about the pissy whine party goin' on right now? Seems like a helluva lot of noise by a few. Some threats to quit if things aren't fixed to their personal Lala satisfaction and all that. Some actual quitting ("never to return") and all that.  And you think I gotta sit in an Ostie 30 hours a week on the pizza terrain to see that? That must be analysis at it's best on the monkey ranch you were bred. :D

If that is true I don't know who the bigger fool is, you for coming up with the idea with relatively no MA play-time, or HTC for actually listening to you and implimenting it, alienating a significant portion of his previously happy, paying customers in the process.

Oh, I don't "love to hate you"... I think the strongest emotion I've got for you is a mild sort of contempt/amusement.

Like I said before.. all of your posts carry the tone of "I AM good, I AM I AM I AM!!!  Why doesn't anyone list ME at the top of the 'greatest pilots EVAR list!!!???"

That and the constant one-upsmanship is amusing.

Random person "Wow, I landed 3 kills today"

Zazen "Way to go!  You know, that reminds me of the X kill sortie I had (where X > 3)"

Random person "Man, I had a great time in my car, it is really awesome"

Zazen "Oh, you drive a XXX?  Thats nice.  I have 2 Lexus (es?  ii?), oh.. and a Porsche I drive on the weekends.  I'm thinking of trading one in to get a Lambourgini or maybe a Ferrarri."

Random person "I read the most fascinating book today!"

Zazen "Yea, that book sure is interesting.  I wrote 7 books on the same topic in my spare time, between my job as a super important manager of a hospital, and my charity work for the poor in Indonesia."

Random person "Man, I went rock climbing on this wall in the local sporting goods store, it was great!"

Zazen " Rock-climbing is great fun. Since my tragic accident, I've scaled peaks in 6 continents, and I'm setting up an expedition to scale Mount Everest.  We are going to set a record for the highest mountain ever climbed while naked without safety ropes."

Random person "Wow, you sure are great in a Flakpanzer!"

Me

Zazen "Yes, I am probably the best Flakpansie shooter ever.  You see, I use a scientific approach I developed while studying quantum physics right after my tragic accident.  You almost cannot fail with my super accurate scientific approach.  Results in 30 days or your money back!"

Random person "I like to play pool in my spare time."

Zazen "Me to!  I own 7 different pool tables.. I am regularly featured on ESPN2's "Best pool players EVAR" show.. it airs Wednesdays at 3:30 AM.  I once won a pool tournament by shooting with my left foot from the adjacent table, using the broken end of my friends crutch (he was in my tragic accident too).  I ran the table off the break, and then the poor guy I beat for the zillion dollar prize threw himself off a bridge the next day!"

Thats the part I find amusing about you.  And slightly disgusting.  So I guess the strongest emotions I feel for you would be a mild disgust/contempt.. tempered by amusement.

He remind anyone else of any 1337 snipers?

I'm not sure which is more pathetic, the fact that you are this fixated on me or that you actually took the time to write all that. I'll have to think about it. ;) Either way, it's a clear-cut case of noodle-envy. ;)

Lol.. that took maybe 5 minutes to type.. tops.  If you think someone taking 1/3rd of 1% of a day to make fun of you means they are "fixated" on you... you probably have at least one very serious mental disorder.  Granted.. most people could probably already tell given the tone of your "ordinary" posts, but you might want to go to a shrink and get it checked out.

Ain't it funny how well it addressed the specific problem at hand, though? After all, nothing coded in AH ever had the dramatic and immediate effect on balancing numbers in the MA than the ENY restriction based on numbers has had. Is it perfect? Neh. Can it be tweaked? Yeah. Did it piss you off? Yeah. Have you actually come up with something better? No. Have I sided with the "overwhelming number of dissatisfied customers" when it came to disabling it to give running without it a try again? Yup.

I'm looking for a downside .... really I am. If you want, I'll teach you how to look at problems with a fresh eye. :aok

It hasn't changed the balance at all really, all it has done is drive 25%(?) of the customers away. What you perceive as greater balance is in actuality just less people overall. If you actually spent as much time in the MA a month as you do trolling the BBS you would know this.

The ENY system doesn't piss me off at all, directly, I fly planes that are uneffected by the ENY limiter. The reason I take exception to it is because of  the principle of it. HiTech choosing to micro-manage balance by curtailing options with a method that does not take actual arena balance (disposition of forces) into account is deeply flawed. No amount of 'tweaking' will change the fact that, in principle, it is deeply flawed. The fact that HTC chose to simply add some simple, arbitrary formula to micromanage player balance rather than figure out a more creative solution, perhaps involving the currently totally meaningless but potentially usefull strat system already in place boggles my mind.
