Ah yes... the sweet music of partisan politics. Both sides rant and accuse the other of destroying the country, meanwhile nothing gets done.

Guess what... both sides are destroying the country, too bad there isn't a decent third party to take advantage of the average citizens' disgust of the petty bickering.

I thought she was calling him a pork meatball or an archaic unit of measure :)

Did she mean effeminate?

My word. Call Richard Simmons and let the healing begin!

Ever since the last US federal election it was like Coulter dropped off the face of the Earth...and I liked that just fine.

oboe... If you believe that there is no difference in the way conservatives and liberals carry on a debate then I have lost a lot of respect for either your powers of observation or your honesty...  I agree that you can find examples of a conservative shouting down a liberal but the overwhelming majority of the time it is the liberal "nazis" as you call em... doing the shouting down and angry sign carrying.

I know that aqua is correct that most academics are socialists.. And why not?  they have never worked a day in their life.. they don't interact with people except in a very limited way.. they have been coddled in acadamia all their lives and live in a fantasy world of theory...  they come up with political ideas and ideals that are utopian and unworkable..   most feel communism is a great idea and that it just hasn't had a fair chance yet.   Also.. they are amoung the weakest willed of all of us... they are unable to think for themselves and the victims of peer pressure that has haunted them from the first day they entered school to the day they signed the "man made global warming" contract..

It is a rare one that has the guts to be a conservative or an individualist.   They are sheep and sheep.... are socialists.   Not all smart people are weak people but almost all academics are.

One thing about Ann Coulter; you never hear her crying or complaining about the vicious, non-PC attacks against her from the GLTB community (this is where MT gets his "adams apple" remark from, which alludes to a gender issue).

Ann dishes it out, but she also handles the pot shots without complaint.  I like her.  I think she's funny.  I absolutely love how she punches political correctness right in the nose.  The fact that she causes a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth from "progressives" is fun to watch.  She's a smart cookie.  She knows how to sell books and commentary, and the progressives are unwilling participants in this when they react like Pavlov's dogs to the dinner bell.

i think that the term "political correctness" was first used by communists who felt that they had to re-educate people who had ideas and beliefs that were counter to communism.  They were "re-educated" until they became politically correct.  Not much has changed.

Did anyone catch the Fox news half our comedy show last night? In the opening bit, Ann Coulter played Rush Limbaugh's vice president :)

I'm guessing that show will never get an emmy:D

Well, here's the deal, Saintaw.

I am a conservative American who's anti-GWB.

I believe birth control is a good thing.

I believe abortion is mostly a bad thing.

I am a Christian, but believe science doesn't necessarily conflict with faith.

I hold a master's degree in education, so am I "academia" enough?

I grew up in a poor rural area and never asked for a handout or favor in anything I ever did, and I don't welcome the snide "we know what's good for you poor, ignorant rednecks" attitude that is so prevalent in the liberal dogma.

I believe in personal freedoms, but am leaning toward gun control because of societal changes.

I hate listening to all political talking heads from both sides of the spectrum, they're too partisan.

I'd like to introduce myself; my name is "Middle America".

lazs,

Both sides do things that bug me, whether its in a debate or the act of protesting.    Could be liberals shouting down Jean Kirkpatrick at a speaking engagement or conservatives harrassing women at a outside a women's health clinic, or someone twisting the facts in an essay.    I do get tired of it.

One of the things that I think is wrong with America is that we seem to have lost our common sense of decency.     Look at this thread - anybody with a lick of sense should know it is as wrong to publicly call Edwards a "studmuffingot" as it would be to for someone to call Obama a "n***r".     It is not a question of PC, it's a question of common decency.   But look how many posters here laugh it off, defend Coulter and try to change to issue to one of PC and/or freedom of speech.     I'm not bent out of shape about it; its just an observation.

Honestly, I see alot more bad behavior from conservatives but maybe that is because they are just more prevalent and/or noticeable.    For example, Its no surprise to me Coulter's remarks about Edwards got more attention than Maher's about Cheney.   Both were wrong, but Coulter generates more interest and attention.    What does Maher even look like?
