one full second of firing and it either falls to pieces or blows up.  If you hold on target for 5 seconds and it hasnt gone boom, you have a problem with your connection or something!

You see the hit sprites in that first shot? Thats all 8 guns, and he didn even lose oil... He survived to pull 3 more turns, a hammerhead, run to ack, neraly hit a tree, try to have me cherrypicked, split ess, and finally one more turn before in the second picture, I landed another good hit.

I really want to love jugs, because I think they have absolutely gorgeous wings. Then I fly one, and am disappointed in what pigs they are. Guess I'm just cut out for rides that build E faster. Shame... jugs are so pretty.

Do you know how long 5 seconds is?  A 5 second burst would be a long tracking shot. The picture you showed here is almost a 90 degree deflection shot. You would have had to been on him through half a circle firring the whole time to get a 5 second burst. I only see about 5 hit sprites in the picture. Of course, my eyes ain't what they use to be, and I'm sure we do see "everything" in a snap shot. I'm thinking you just didn't hit him as well as you thought. If you had, you would have sawed his wing off.... even against a tough old bird like the 109 :D

Ya need to stay reasonably fast at ALL times, but if ya have a couple thousand feet of alt to give up they accel REAL fast, and hang onto it longer than most planes. Was at 4k or so land slow ast night and managed to escape from a slightly higher 51 and a K4, 2 planes that would catch an N on the straight and level---gotta live before ya can fight somethin--also does split S quicker than most any plane I have seen

He had been flying straight an level before that. He had just kicked his rudder and aileron over to try to evade. I had already been firing and hitting. That picture as posted here looks wrong... as in somehow it changed from the one I have hosted online. Its not ACTUALLY a 90 degree deflection...

Dude, no need to argue about time as it is a constant(or as atomically close as possible to constant).  5 seconds will blow up anyplane in the set!(and yes I mean bombers too)  It takes less than that if you are at convergence!:aok

We will help .... just look any 56th up, come fly with us some ..... we have some really good jug pilots and some in training c(:

Most people don't know much about what a p47 is capable of... some 56th have been to the "limits" and beyond (wink)

Had seen some pics in the past showing them bulldozing a lot of P38's into pits in the Phillippines after the war.

Serenity...

The best thing you can do is Fly with the 56th for thier squad Night...
The info you will get from those guys (And girl ;) ) in one night will be better than getting training sessions.
I myself am losing my touch in the P-47 as I am back to Full time 109 dweebing...but If you have any questions fell free to ask me or any other 56th JUG Jockies.

HOLY S***!!! :O :O :O

P-47 is UB3R!!!! Im sorry, this bird is squealing AMAZING! She outdives a Bf-109, so the BnZ is GREAT on her. I spent about 5 hours flying her when I got home friday night/saturday morning. I started off BnZing, but was getting no luck. Im just not good at BnZ. So, I saw a large furball, and decided to TnB low on the deck... DEAR GOD!!! The jug out-dives a 109 and turns like a Spitifre! I felt like I really was flying a spit! She was light, nimble, YoYos were killer, and I LOVE her in the rolling scissors. As long as I was careful about her energy, it was great!!! All 15+ (Im trying to recall from memory) kills in that period were LOW on the deck against Seafires and Corsairs. Virtually no deaths in the furballs. This plane is absolutely amazing...

I honestly thought I was WAAAAAYYYY too tired to be playing, because I couldnt believe a JUG could feel so light, lol. After all, I had only gotten home at 0130, lol. But no, repeated the same results last night, and im going back in in a few minutes!
