The Pinto 'Fire Ball', it had an unprotected gas tank (as in it was just beneath the metal siding) and if you got rear ended- KA-BOOM!

You would be incorrect, but that isn't too surprising.

i've actually owned some form of mustang for the entire time i've been driving. my first ones were a couple of 67's, a couple of 68's and then a 74(that was a freebie).
the 60's stngs all had c-4's in them. the only complaint i ever had with those trannys, was the shifting when i modified the engines. that was easily fixable though with a little valve body work. not a single one of them ever popped out of park. i would be more inclined to think that that problem was somethign to do with the linkage, as ford had linkage rods, with a slot and locknut for adjustment.........not the chrysler k-cars that you couldn't park on even the slightest incline without it getting stuck in park.........

Uh, there was no 4.3L all aluminum Cadillac V-8. But don't let the facts get in your way.

Just because you say different Mr.weakbait doesn't mean they didn't make one. I had a 1987 Caddy sedan deville with that junk motor in it and it was the worst idea GM ever had.

Any Caddy with the 4.3 litre V-8. Worst motor ever made IMHO. They used a all aluminum block and heads and put cast iron sleeves in the cylinders.

So what is wrong with cast iron sleeves? R-R, Jumo, Allison, D-B engines ran very well with steel sleeves.

I replaced the complete top end of that motor and the bottom end fell out 5,000 miles later. I had the caddy dealer do the work as well......

the cadillac engines in question needed sealer in the cooling system. a lot of us locally call them cadillac aspirins. if you flush, or otherwise service the cooling system on these engines, and don't put sealer in the cooling system, you'll be seeing that car back with a nice leak. probably overheating too.
