Comments:
1. Don't believe it, if ATC was busy they would not be having that conversation
2. Don't believe it, you just don't do something like that (think it might even be illegal)
3.  :lol, I guess this one could happen
4. Sometimes you think that you see the aircraft that ATC is talking about but in reality is someone else, dangerous situation.
5.  :lol
6.  :rofl, I did hear that controllers at frankfurt were @** holes. Someone told me how he was taking off at frankfurt on a overweight C-130 and had an engine fire, after that ATC did not clear him to land to told him to climb to the holding pattern... (at that point you stop listening to ATC)

Bird (Bat) strike to the right wing.    -     Bat removed. Damage to aircraft: none Damage to bat: fatal

My personal favorite; and I know this one is true because it happened to me.
At the time I was the chief mechanic at an aircraft service and mod shop. I received a phone call from a gentleman that wanted to order a new wing for his airplane because he had had a bird strike.  I told him we could put a flush patch on his wing and when finished you would never know it had been repaired. (except for the log entries of course)
He said he knew about flush patches but the bird was in a tree when he hit it so he needed a new wing.
We got him his wing.

I overheard a conversation between a SWA pilot and the ATC at San Antonio. It was a slow tuesday afternoon, and I was crusing around the west practice area listening to San Antonio approach.
ATC: SWA 862 traffic to your 3 o clock P38 report traffic insight
Before the SWA could respond I heard
P38: I have him in my sight.
SWA: wat

Believe it.  Back in '01 I was inbound to Palwaukee in the B-24 and requested a low approach then closed traffic to a full stop.  Tower tells a biz jet that was also inbound to circle to give us time to make our pass and land.  The biz jet asks "So we have to burn fuel while this guy makes a low pass?" to which the controller replied "Any aircraft with guns has right of way."

nice lol

Different situation, I'm sure ATC would not be cluttering the radio if there was a lot of traffic in the area.

Stuff like this is not common but does happen. dont be so quick to write it off. especially if you dont get to hear ATC calls much.  :bolt:

Is Georgetown class d or is it in Austin airspace?

(I've never been to Georgetown)
