was it quicker than 11's?

I don't believe the Ford Thunderbolt with the 427sohc ever went into production except for the few built strictly for drag racing. That is the only car I'd rather have then a 70 Cuda. Extremely rare

it was limited, and i believe it was street legal. from what i recall a friend who had one way back, ford called you, and told you when it would be at the dealer. you had to pick it up the same day, from what he told me.
hey no ones perfect....but they over looked the fastest by far of them allmid 10's 68 barracuda fastest quarter mile American muscle car ever madeand incidentally another little factoid for you "ford" and "chevy" guys the first car to ever hit 200 mph in the quarter mile was a Challenger (Image removed from quote.)
@Cap those are 60/70s, hell a modern asian turbo 4WD 4 banger will rival those times out of the factory. @Ink, they made like 50ish of those Super Stock between the Cudas and the Darts right? Not really a benchmark material . kind of like the thinking that the 2008 Mustang CJ has anything remotely comparable to a GT.
1 word. cobrajet
one word. thunderbolt
they made more then 50 of the Barracuda's and what does that matter...they only made 12(or 9 there is a debate about that) 71 Hemi rag top four speed Cuda's...my memory fails me on the number of those Barracuda's made...the number 150 comes to mind though...besides, still did mid 10 second quarter mile and with a bit of tweaking it would pull 9's.well beyond its competition. sorry man I am a hard core Mopar guy....besides the facts the facts...nothing touched that Barracuda back then or today with out major alteration...and dont make me link some old Nascar races with the Superbird lapping the fords Talladaga's and Torinos like what 50 times.....and more. hell I think Petty lapped his contenders over 100 times in one race...except the other superbirds..... no sweat. the thunderbolts were factory fords that ran 11's. i actually thought that was all that the mopar equivalents did too. with the "cobrajet reference, i was referencing the new 2011 and 2012 cobrajets. production cars, although not street legal...not even a vin number....but they run either high 9's or high 8's, depending on which blower. not street legal, like i said...but they are regular production cars.
43 years of technology since those hay days of pure muscle.....they better be able to produce a car that can do that....otherwise they need to start make lawn mowers.
uumm...then chevy, chrysler, and all the so called euro super car companies better start building lawn mowers.
