inverted flat spin in 110C

How do you get out of it?
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

When you spin the nose pitches up and down. When the nose moves towards the ground, this is up relative to the inverted pilot, cut throttle and pull the stick back to go straight down.

Tried dual throttle control? Dual controllers is ideal but it can be done with engine selection and one throttle controller.

Thanks.  I did try that but guess I did it wrong.  Elevators had no effect.

Post a film next time if you can. You may have had some differences in your spin from my test.

Thrust to stop the spin should work but you'll want to practice it.

for me this works pretty well ( in the g2):

cut left throttle. stick forward right. oppiside rudder.

hope it works for you awell :salute

Last night I put the 110C into a deep inverted stall,I made atleast 3 rotations and fell about 2500ft.

To get out of this stall I simply shut down both engines to stop the rotation, then pulled back on stick to get the nose down.Once the nose started down I then restarted the engines and slowly applied power to get to flying speed and pulled out.

I lost just over 3000ft by the time I got flying level again.

  YMMV!

It seems very counterintuitive to me, I know a similar recovery works in the 152.

Shutting off the engines in a spin seems completely bass ackwards to me.  Is there something I don't know about why it works?

Try extending the landing gear?

Spins are complicated. My guess on shutting off the engines would be the momentary disruption of the balance of forces in the spin.

Thanks.  I did try that but guess I did it wrong.  Elevators had no effect.

If you go with the pitch oscillations the elevators are more likely to work than if you go against the pitch changes in the spin. You can try to increase the oscillations to get your nose further down before you try to break the spin.

If you can roll 90 degrees you can use the rudder to push the nose down.

Agree.  No upside to shutting off the engine. A spin results from either pilot error or mechanical/structural failure.  Here, in cartoon world, its common to see engines turned off for a variety of "gamey" reasons.

Shutting the engine off is unnecessary but reducing thrust to idle is normal spin recovery procedure.

I had to shut down engines because I let the 110 get into a deep inverted spin,at least 3 complete rotations and there was near zero airspeed and the control surfaces would not stop the rotation!  IRL I doubt anyone would wait as long as I did but I was trying to get into an unrecoverable flat spin.

As soon as the prop stopped the rotations also stopped and that allowed me to get the nose down and as soon as I did I started the engines up and tried to get enough airspeed to start flying again.

In some A/C ingame I have dropped gear and shut down to regain flight, spit 1's seem to need the gear out to get the nose down.

I knew my post would cause some discussion,I actually answered Wiley's question via PM,I told him it was my opinion that shutting down would stop the torque that was causing the rotation, once the rotation stops, getting the nose down seems much easier.  I'm sure if I didnt let the 110 get so deep into the flat spin I could have pulled out by simply chopping power before the rotations start to build.

 YMMV!
