and car payments. in exchange I do all her shopping, make sure her fridge has cold water, take out the trash, little things like that.  she's not able to drive anymore. so it works for both of us. and when I make my famous spaghetti sauce, she gets some of it.

So the California grid will have to go from present day rolling blackouts to having enough capacity to support charging every car in the state?

If I had the sort of job where I would travel to and from work less than a hundred miles a day, I could see having two electric cars and a solar array strong enough to charge one or the other during the course of a day. I don't know if that's possible, it takes like 40 amps for quite a large amount of time to charge one.
