gg, if you live in the PDRK (peepuls demokratik repugnant of kaliophornya) you can buy a rifle or shotgun in AZ but not a pistol. Handgun sales are restricted to the state you legally reside in.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Then I thought I could just buy one in Arizona when I went for a visit, but read that you can't do that and bring it into the state.

You can buy out of state, but the firearm has to be shipped by seller to CA FFL dealer where you can DROS it. Which usually means paying extra for shipping and storage fees.

I'll get something eventually. I'll check local shops in a day or two to see how busy they are and if they require an appointment.

It's largely back to normal.

Don't forget to buy ammo at the same time.
We can't buy ammo online or out of state anymore and you need to go through background check with every purchase.  :(

Only criminals can bring guns into California?

Pretty much, same with the ammo. CA legislature is extremely anti-gun and each year they dream up some more toejamty anti-gun laws. Can't really tell how I feel about because it would lock the thread instantly.

That's federal law, which also says FFLs can only sell in compliance with the buyer’s state laws and CA law says you can't do that.

CA says you can't go to another state, buy and bring back with you any firearms or ammo (black powder stuff being an exception).

All out of state purchases have to be shipped to CA FFL.

Gun laws like all other laws are only for law abiding civilized among us..

The animal criminal element could care less...

Additional gun laws will do zero in lowering crimes committed with them...

To the op..9mm glock..that's if it gets past the pit bull

I bet the 4.65 I have in my bank account that you don't know any law abiding citizen.  but you know lots of people who think the laws they broke aren't that important.

I could say the same thing about you. always complaining about one thing or another.

like your previous statement which is silly.  laws are only for law abiding civilized among us. if there were no laws, we wouldn't have criminals either.

What Eagler meant was that criminals don't abide by the law so any law passed really only affects the law abiding since they are the ones abiding by it. Laws also exist as a means to provide a legalized punishment for those that do wrong, like stealing or murder for instance. The existence of the laws doesn't prevent crime or create it. Crime exists because there is evil in the hearts of men.  :old:
