I can't believe that someone would shoot me hanging in a chute.  I was then laughed at,,,,,,,guess I don't understand that mindset!  Guess Ah not for me,,,,,,,,,,,,,happy that this occurred before I subscribed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,most folks where real nice ,,,,,,unfortunately too many are not

You quit over that?  I'm sorry but that just seems like that dumbest thing to get upset about.  Some people Fat Drunk Bastards do it because people make a scene over it.  I do it sometimes :)

yea, you shouldnt quit over getting popped in a chute. 1st, do what many of us do and squelch channel 1, your exposure to the taunts of the enemy is elimanated by squelching. Find good guys on your team to fly with, don't worry about the nmy -- they are there for you to hunt...."sonny, don't Play with the nmy! Shoot them down!"

I always thought shooting chutes was a waste of ammo.  I get my kicks shooting airplanes.

If I get popped in a chute, its no big deal to me.  It gets me back to the tower that much quicker.

Last night i was shot down by another pilot.  If i had known it was THAT kind of game, I would never have subscribed!  I demand a refund!

the basics of AH main areana:
[list=1]
  • first thing in the areana: ".squelch 1"
  • look outside the tower - if it's dark, skip to #11
  • look for an unporked field less then 1.5 sectors from the front - if search returned 0, skip to #11
  • fly what you want.
  • fly it to a sector where the red AND green bars dont go all the way across the square. If you country is getting ganged and there aren't such sectors, skip to #11.
  • If you get shot down, dont bail, unless the plane flatters down slowly.
  • If you did bail in #5, dont pull the cord.
  • never give if there are more then 200 ppl in the areana. It's too dangerous violating #1 under these conditions.
  • never expect , you wont see it anyway - see #1.
  • Do what you like even if some general say it's stupid - you may rethink about it, but $crew him if that's what you want.

If ones hangin around at my altitude I pop it in a heartbeat.

But if you "insist" on being a wuss, learn to open your chute as close to the ground as possible and watch guys auger trying to shoot you..

So far this tour there are 1032 kills by chutes.

To shoot or not to shoot, to wuss or not to wuss..

LOL I crack myself up.

Actually I was shocked the first time it happened to me. Took awhile to figure out what the squishy sound was. Felt depraved the first time I shot one..

You get over it, with confession and penance...

I  learned that shooting them is alot of fun, and the whining is even better.

I don't bail. I'll try to put a wounded one down even if the odds are against me. If I'm in wreckage at 3000 feet I figure it's a good day to die and ride it in.

A chute-shooter wastes their ammo on me as I am already dead and they get me back to the tower faster to boot !

Although getting shot at while in a chute kinda makes me shake my head, I do get a kick out of the planes that make about 3 or 4 passes at you, missing each time :D
