Head to the bar thinking Pink Floyd and pool. Get there and its Karaoke and darts. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I think thats a bad mix. Flying pointy things and off key singers can lead to disaster. So I hung around, but no action there either.
I guess it all boils down to the Stones - "You can't always get what you want."

A reset when a teams number of bases fell below 10%  of the sum of the other two teams wolud keep all strategy and defence in place. It would eliminate the vulch characteristic of the end and eliminate shutting out a segment of the player base while the end woddles to completion. Why the number would be hardcoded regardless of map size, I don't understand. All I can say is I HATE KARAOKE! (and darts), and I hate having no place to take off from. All I want to do is play a couple of hours of AH.

10% of the sum of the two stronger countries. Think about it and tell me whats wrong with it.

I think one simple phrase explains most of all the complaints in the game........
"you can please some people some of the time, but you will never please all the people all of the time" :rofl

Here's a fancy algorithm for you - if any teams number of bases get below 10% of the sum of the two other teams, map resets. It would minimize the junk like tonight where one team is pretty much shut out of the game.

let'see some scenario:
Rooks/bish/knights are in a bad situation, field porked, or a map thats not fine for them.
On green channel appears a write " In one minute we all log - off and relog after 30 sec". Suddenly the number drops and the map reset.
How many reset do we expect  for any day??

If you can never please all of the people all of the time, then maybe you could please some of the people some of the time?  Or are you arguing that you can please none of the people all of the time?  Oh, the confusion.

Or perhaps you meant to say, "You can please some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time."

Incidentally, the original quote replaces "please" with "fool."

Fifteen Knights working together as a cohesive unit, can accomplish great things. Let's face it, we have lower numbers 90% of the time, which means effective planning, communication and mission Ops must be in place, and observed.

I've also seen 25 Knights head to an NME field, pork it to pieces, and the inevitable call for, "Who has the goon?" goes out on Ch 2. Dead silence :)

It's really pretty simple...take down a town and town ack, suppress the airfield/VH and get troops in. Hotpad & repeat.

If the plan falls apart, move to another taget. We tend to get fixated with "conga line" methods which are doomed to failure.

my two cents

Stegor, what I suggested has nothing to do with the number of people on for a given team, but the number of bases they own.

This would be a typical scenario on a small map...

Bishops have 30 bases, rooks have 40 bases, knights have 7 bases. If knights lose one more base the map resets. Knights can still struggle to hold out, bishops can still cooperate with the rooks to lose another war, and chances are, some knights can still up from a field not capped by vultures.

And I pulled 10% out of thin air. I just don't think the number should be hardcoded to one or two, but a percentage of the total number of bases - 5% -10%-15% - just to reduce the time a team has to fly from an absolutely dismal situation. I've seen Bishops and rooks drag out resets for HOURS while knights have 3 porked bases to enjoy their game time. Its just a suggestion.
I'm interested in problems it would create that aren't already there, and would it make the game more enjoyable for players of the losing country.  I just don't see the need to keep one side down to 3 porked and capped bases for hours.

Well that's because either (A) your a knight, (B) you live in a vaccum, (C) you fly during a time when I'm not normally logged on which is most likely the case taking into account your name (which looks to be German)which means your at least 6 hours ahead of my time zone or (D) a combination of the three.

As far as the respected and feared thing, well some of it was meant to be a joke.   I don't think anyone is feared in this game, respectful of someones skill yes but thats assuming you know who the person your fighting is which is usually never the case until some one is killed.  But I will tell you one thing about me and that is don't underestimate me and Generally you only get one shot at killing me and if you mess that up I can quarantee there won't be a second chance
Yes I know I suck, other wise youuuuu would be dead so stop bragging.

Hey Med,

You got my respect and since I'm a knight, well, the fear thing will have to wait.  (Although this thread got the ball rolling lol:D   JK)

Seriously though, I used to be into the win the war thing before stuff like; the bish letting the rooks take their fields to prevent a reset by knights, (This goes back to when the Bish had all the numbers and the rooks numbers were even worse than the knights are now.)  the all out numbers of one country over powering the numbers of the combined other two, the sameness of base captures over and over, are just some of the things that make your post, while completely valid and understood, kind of funny to me.  No disrespect meant.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I have passed the realm of Win The War, Pound the Bases kind of a game, because it is just a game, for the pure competition of Air To Air combat.

Now there are great pilots that fly to win the war, it's just that they have chosen the game side of the arena, while most of the time I choose the competition side.  And yes the two types sometimes collied; i.e.; When a carrier feeding a great furball is sunk or like you have cited when we are getting steam rolled and everyone is just enjoying the fighting rather than give a crap about the war. But, to call it "pulling the same selfish and self centered bone headed stuff" is just a polite way of saying, the people that log in and just choose to fight are a bunch of Aholes:D.  And, (in a the Church Lady voice) that’s just not nice, since the real question is...

WHERE THE F@#K IS THE OZ MAP:rofl :D

On another note...
Here is a good example of how small the BB community is - The other night I was on range with a fellow knight, I forget his name, I mentioned that I was excited about the Oz map.  He replied, "What is the Oz map?" lolh.  And no, he was not a noob.
