I know that VMF-323 was on USS Sicily in the Korean War (quick check of Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships shows that Sicily was not commissioned until after WWII was over).  But I think in WWII jeep CVs only carried the Death Rattlers to forward positions where they transferred to land bases for combat ops (Kadena Field and then Awase Field till the end of the war).  I'm pretty sure the only CVE to launch combat Corsairs in WWII was USS Gilbert Islands.

What struck me immediately is that at that age, I had no concept of an afterlife, let alone death. And certainly no concept or desire to create an elaborate hoax based on concepts I knew nothing about. It was mostly about "feed me", "I want to play" and "oops I just crapped myself".

But then, kids seem to grow up so damned fast these days...

If this is fake, then I suspect the parents and psychologists. But if they're for real, then it's a bit hard to believe there's not something legit about the kid.

It's like UFO's.... I just don't get how people can automatically rule it out with so much conviction. I don't buy it either. I also don't rule it out.

The kid could be possessed by a demon too. I say this half jokingly because it's humorous to me that some people tend to believe many far fetched things, yet reject out of hand the possibility of a God, deomons and spirits.

Do a search on Fleet Air Arm and Corsair operations, I'm pretty sure they only had escort carriers to work with. In fact til the pom's proved it could be done the US refused to fly hawks off cv's.
